We blessed our own Easter baskets (just like last year) and we just feasted a bit!!
The Vatican has an observatory at Castel Gandolfo!!! I did not know that!!!
The sandwich at Culvers is delicious.
I realize this is a thread for Catholics, so maybe Iām not supposed to get that. But⦠whatās it mean?
The church made a bunch of changes a few years back. I still find myself saying āAnd also with youā.
Under his eye?
I still donāt get the bit about foster parents being dead.
I wonder if the Anglicans will change their liturgy, too. Iām pretty sure thatās what they said, as well.
Itās a reference to Terminator II. She said it wrong, so he knows she is an imposter.
Iām glad you asked.
I was raised Lutheran & can still recite most of the liturgy through muscle memory. For us it was:
-ā[The Lordās] Peace be with you.ā
-āAnd also with you.ā
The change was over a decade ago (advent 2010 was when the switch occurred)
If we just stuck to Latin⦠I mean, really. How is āet cum spiritu tuoā - āand also with youā? Itās obviously āand with your spiritā
All the other languages got a much more accurate translation.
That change was the easiest one for me⦠I still have to think about āLord, I am unworthy that you should enter under my roofā¦ā
So the translation is old, if thatās what the other ātraditionalā churches say. I thought Iād heard that a lot, and not just from Catholics. Thanks.
I actually did get this one. Very proud of myself. I attended a Catholic wedding back in 2018 and hadnāt been in a mass service in at least a decade and responded incorrectly; the Lord did not strike me down though, whew.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Just donāt tell everyone that you gave $100 when you only put in a fiver.
Generally, itās tacky to tell people what you put in the collection.
