Debated whether to put this here or in political humor…

Biden giving up the press for Lent.

This isn’t Aquinas’s feast day (it’s usually on the death day of a saint, but it got moved to January 28, the date MOST OF his relics were moved to Toulouse – because having a saint’s day during Lent isn’t all that great for the saint.)

I said MOST OF, because St. Thomas Aquinas’s skull is still in Italy!

I’ve seen one of these first-class relics before – often a head or a heart is separated from the rest of the body and preserved.

If you want to know about the different classes of relics:

First-class: This is the “highest” form of relic, and refers to a piece of the body of the saint—including bones, hair, etc. This class also includes relics of Christ’s Passion, such as pieces of the True Cross.

Second-class: These relics are items that belonged to or were used by the saint, such as clothing, books, and rosaries, or an instrument used in the torture or death of a martyr.

Third-class: These are items—such as a rosary, piece of cloth, or prayer card—that have been touched to a first or second class relic.

Lots of people have third-class relics. Those are easy to get.

He is Risen!

Here, have some Mozart!

Queen of Heaven

V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
V. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
