The fun part is that a meaningful portion of our Glorious Leader’s base is comprised of conspiracy theorists.
Despite the issues of the reliability of anything Epstein, Wolff, Maxwell, etc. may have been documented as saying/doing, the “MAGA includes a bunch of conspiracy lovers” aspect is the element that might impact our Glorious Leader’s legendary ability to avoid having any nastiness stick to him.
“he knew about the girls” can reasonably be considered to be “Trump knew I was poaching young girl employees”, which is part of Trump’s story already. It can also be read other ways.
They were playing checkers…
They were colouring …
They were watching cartoons…
They were having sex…
They were playing dress up…
They were listening to Backstreet Boys…
The White House is saying that Giuffre’s testimony shows that nothing happened and the fact that the email refers to Giuffre is thus exculpatory. But Giuffre also said that she never met Trump at Epstein’s house, so the email that the White House is acknowledging is authentic is contradicting other parts of her testimony. Given that some of the other victims have indicated that they were pressured not to name Trump, I believe the email and not her other statements.
The article also omits discussion of the email indicating that Epstein and Trump met during Thanksgiving in 2017. The White House denies that that happened, but have not released visitor logs that would prove their claim.
The White House said it refers to the late Virginia Giuffre, a prominent Epstein accuser who died by suicide earlier this year. In a statement, the White House said Giuffre “repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions”.
Giuffre said in a 2016 deposition that she never saw Trump participate in any abuse. And in a memoir released this year, she did not accuse the president of any wrongdoing.
I don’t understand how it’s not a bigger deal that Trump himself admitted he knew that an underage sex trafficking ring was being run out of his resorts and only after guests complained about it, rather than reporting anything, brushed it under the rug, telling the sex trafficker he couldn’t be a member or abduct his employees anymore.
Giuffre is just the most vocal victim of Epstein, she’s not the only one. Her saying Trump did or didn’t do anything her doesn’t say anything given the decade plus long relationship between the two.
Trump clearly knew that Epstein was involved with underage girls for years and didn’t report it. I’m surprised that more people aren’t upset that Trump has been supportive of a child molester for so long.
Fox News and right wing media have demonized liberals/democrats for 30 years, to the point where many people on the right (and not just the MAGA base) will get a bit of a dopamine rush when someone like Trump makes absurd claims and attacks against the left. Just like substance addicts, they know Trump is a terrible person that has and continues to do terrible things, but they will continue to enable more consumption and tolerate even more objectionable stories from him as long as they can get their dopamine hits.
