Thread for how things are shitty, and then get shittier.

BMW wants you to pay to use the seat warmers??? WTF is that???

Does shrinkflation count? I’m constantly having to tweak all my recipes to deal with grocery items coming in smaller packages. :face_with_steam_from_nose:

Yeah

My spouse’s volvo is like that. If you don’t pay for the app, you lose a lot of features - remote start for sure.

When we bought the car we got a long term subscription included, but it’s not forever.

My 2025 car has 2 more years included on the automatic start, and then I have to pay a $15/month subscription to keep it

Cat food.

They have reduced the amount of meat and degraded the mix of ingredients. Our cats definitely noticed (Whiskas).

Obligatory Simpsons vid:

Southwest has ditched their open seating for assigned seats, and no longer allow you to check two bags for free. Worse yet, I’m hearing several complaints that if a flight has a lot of open seats after boarding is complete, the FAs aren’t allowing passengers to move to where there is a lot of open space. You have to stay in your assigned seat.

I’ll probably continue flying with them for work, it’s my only nonstop option from MCI to IAD. I could take United to Dulles but it’s a little hassle to get from there to Bethesda.

Dammit. Maybe my company will pay for premium economy. I’m not a germaphobe but planes can get a little nasty sometimes and this won’t help.

Flying is for germy suckers.

I was nearly Southwest-exclusive for over 10 years. The idea that I could buy a ticket 49 hours in advance and, if I were willing to pay, still have a pretty good shot at not being stuck in a middle seat, plus some phenomenal customer service interactions, plus the fact they had logical routings on the places I was traveling at the time, had me extremely loyal.

I haven’t flown on them since pandemic lockdowns. Some of that is because my travel patterns have changed (my father passed away so I’m no longer shuttling to where he lived; the only work travel I need to do these days is when I’m summoned into the office…which is in London)…but the recent changes have eliminated my preference for Southwest.

I’m mostly a Delta and Icelandair guy now.

I wish Delta was an option for me. Flying out of Kansas City, SW and United are the big two, I’ve always heard good things about Delta and the surveys tend to rank them pretty high. It’s fine, I don’t travel nearly as much as I used to.
