It seems they herded us Tesla buyers into a 2024Q3 transaction with 2.9% financing so they could drop prices $2,500 in October - but with less attractive financing. Plus I hear there will be a Juniper refresh next year. It will probably have more range, but hopefully with it will come a higher sticker price.

I don’t regret my purchase at all still, but you just wonder how much better things will be five years from now. But all I really stand to lose is a little more time at supercharges on road trips and that shouldn’t be terribly often.

Don’t quote me on this, but didn’t the new Model 3 get around a 10% bump in range? Some folks are speculating the next Y could get a 95kWh battery but it feels like that could add a lot of weight and cost.

The big break will be if and when we see solid state batteries that offer a 40% increase in energy density.

Charged level 3 while in Quebec. It worked out to be around $US0.32 per kWh, which is quite a bit cheaper than I’ve seen in the US (between about 48 and 64 cents).

Quebec has a lot of hydro-electric power generation (90% or so of their energy mix). Energy tends to skew cheaper there because of that.

Because they’re cheating Newfoundland and Labrador so much on the amount they’re paying for electricity from Churchill Falls./s

Worst deal ever for Nfld, eh?

Joey Smallwood screwed that deal up. He signed an extension he didn’t need to do. NL and QC are negotiating the construction of a new dam and rectifying the situation seems to be a part of the deal. I predict NLers will be pissed regardless of what the deal ends up being as they should have received more

I thought in Canadia they called it a “d a r n”

Based on the WoW guild I raid with, I would have thought that was the U.S. spelling. You guys seem to freak out about swearing a lot more than Canadians.

Seen on Reddit:

We actually saw our first Cybertruck in the wild on Saturday. It was stuck in downtown gridlock traffic.

People were openly pointing it out to friends, laughing at it, and taking pictures on their phones.

I felt kind of bad for the driver, but also they made their choices.

I like seeing them in the wild- especially when they’re lit up at night. Glad someone else paid for it though

I was unaware of this feature…will investigate.
Edit: okay here you go…detailed because it contains unprofessional words in and at the link…

wash your tesla mouth out with soap

I see them all the time. Lots of colors.
They all look extremely stupid.

Haha. Gosh, these drivers might become the most despised drivers since the smug Volvo drivers of the 80s.

I see Cybertrucks fairly often.

One thing that went from a rarity at my house to all the time: I see Waymo often now. I saw one 4 days in a row in my neighborhood. They are heavily mapping in my area, so I imagine I might be able to hail one in the somewhat near future.

I see Cybertrucks somewhat regularly. It still amazes me how much folks will pay for what looks like a dumpster on wheels to me but hey to each his own.

I’ve seen them enough that it’s not particularly special at this point to see one. Have not seen that light show though… what in the world is the point of that???

Yeah. I find them really ugly as well.

No real point, Tesla has a few features like this. You can also get the car to make fart sounds. And I think if you tell the car to open its butthole the charging port opens. Bored engineers, likely.

And I will agree with others that the Cybertruck is just awful. I’ve seen a few in person and somehow they look worse than the pics. Hard pass. I’d take a Rivian, or the F150 Lightning if I needed a big truck.
