COVID Home Test Kits

I could go for a Canada vacation if that’s still active.

The no-cost 8 tests a month (I think it’s defined as every 30 days) with insurance expires 5/11. We got 3 sets today and will get 3 more sets on 5/10. They’re easy to order online through Walgreens.

every time I order from walgreens, they lose my order and I have to follow up.

I got the 8 free ones last month or the month before. I’m not sure I’m gonna bother stocking up again prior to May as the tests themselves have expiration dates and how many do I really need.

I normally don’t use Walgreens but they have the Binaxnow tests and our normal pharmacy uses Flowflex which are my least favorite of the home tests I’ve tried.

I should get some more.

yeah, all the tests I got from Walgreens were Binaxnow. They are easy to use.

Most of these expiration dates have gotten extended as further stability data has become available. The manufacturer’s website should have an updated expiration date based on the serial number.

As cases of a new COVID-19 variant tick upward across the U.S., the federal government is again offering Americans free at-home COVID-19 test kits. Individuals and households can begin ordering the test kits later this month, on the heels of a summer wave of COVID-19 cases.

The Biden administration restarted the same program last fall, too, after a brief pause to conserve supplies of the test. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the program, has not yet said when it will start taking orders again for the at-home COVID-19 tests through the COVIDTests.gov website.

Long gone. I would mention that the hotel stays were at the individual’s expense and were ridiculously expensive compared to their normal rates.

As for the availability of COVID tests, every major Canadian pharmacy has a stack of free ones at their entrance. Never any need to order one.

Wow I saw some in the store here and they were like $20 each.

That is Canadian socialism for you! :grinning:

I was never socialist until I studied the history of medical insurance in various countries.

I don’t think universal medical care is socialism. Even most conservative Canadians would likely view at as a fundamental human right.

Saw kits on the shelf at Wal-mart today, a 2-pack for about $15.

I have only taken a couple drive through free tests. I am relatively sure that I have not had it.
