I had Pfizer #2 on Thursday morning. Around 3:00 am I awoke with a fever, body aches and trouble sleeping. Some Tylenol took care of the aches and fever. I felt fatigue all day Friday. I’m feeling much better today.

Felt basically 100% by Friday afternoon (48 hours post shot). Went golfing, but held off on beers. I’m blaming my sore arm for a terrible front 9.
Got moderna #2 yesterday. Enough body and head ache to make me want to go lay down for a while.

#2 of Pfizer on Wednesday (5/19). So far, only complaint has been a sore arm (like a normal shot) and mild fatigue–actually slept in Thurs and Fri mornings just to help things along.

I have confirmed partial hearing loss in my left ear (non-permanent…we think). Finally just went to an ENT (see OP). They have seen significant (enough) increase in inner ear complaints following covid vaccines, leading them to think there’s some probable link, though the exact cause/reaction hasn’t been identified. Still…better to not die from Covid. They did advise I still not take the 2nd dose, which kinda sucks. Would like to be able to get it done and over with.
Wow that sucks, hopefully it comes back soon. Sorry you’re having to deal with that.

Thanks for the well-wishes! I can still generally hear normal things just fine. Very specific range of higher frequencies I have trouble with, which is more of a sign of an acute physical response (inflammation/fluid retention in the inner ear) as opposed to blanket hearing loss, like dying off of the hairs in the cochlea. So…fix the underlying issue and it should come back. Hydrochlorothiazide to attempt to get rid of excess fluid, which is at least what it actually feels like in my head. Prior approach of mass antihistamine use made sense for the same reason, but ended up not doing much, so on to the next.

My mom had partial hearing loss, make that substantial hearing loss, when she was in bed for an extended period due to serious illness. It sounds like mechanically it was the same problem as you have.
She recovered, and her hearing is now excellent.

I’ve finally been feeling myself the last week. Still haven’t gotten 2nd shot though. No desire of going through this again. Need more medical research on what’s happening. The original forum link in the OP is up to 250 pages of people with the same symptoms and recovery time frame, and based on the ENT’s comments is a concern, so hopefully something gets figured out. Also not sure if any meds really did much or if enough time has simply passed to heal up. Still some tinnitus left but that’s the only remaining symptom, and is not proving to be debilitating on its own. Hopefully that eventually subsides as well.

I mentioned that my 5G reception improved after vaccination, but I haven’t had any problems with utensils sticking to my head yet. Will experiment tonight.

Wait, I just tried with an actual magnet and I definitely got a bad dose.
One of my co-op students just got covid. Early 20’s and vaccinated once. They’ve been off most of the week. Fever and lethargy. Hopefully the symptoms don’t get worse, we will know Monday.

Just wondering: of the several hundred covid threads we have, why did you choose to post about your student’s illness in this one?
First vaccine, Pfizer, very tired for a few days after.
Second vaccine, Moderna, fever and intense headache the day after, completely cleared in a day.
While I hope we don’t need annual boosters, I’ll still get them if needed to help stop transmission.
(I’ve had a lot of shots, this is by far and wide my strongest reaction)
