Covid 19 Vaccine Side Effects Thread

:grimacing: i don’t view 101 as a slight fever. that kinda sucks

Well, I haven’t run a fever in years, so what do I know? My threshold for bad is noticeable chills, but my little home office tends to run hot so maybe that spared me. (I keep the door shut to keep the racket from the kids down, and the multiple computers in my office can really kick off some heat.)

No long term safety studies? But then how will they credibly claim them to be SafeAndEffectiveā„¢?

Can’t not piss in everyone’s Cheerios?

Fair enough. They are also looking for common side effects that take months or years to manifest.

…
That’s not a common problem with vaccines, but hey, new technologies. We shall find out.

25 hours in, and I feel like I swallowed a handful of Tylenol PMs. Feeling tired isn’t unpleasant, in fact, I’ll be crawling into bed in a few minutes and that should feel quite nice.

IFYP. I’m almost (99.9%) certain that assumption has not been tested (rigorously) for any vaccines.

I think it’s fair to say that’s the first time I’ve ever encountered that quaint expression.

Very little has been tested as rigorously as whether the MMR vaccine causes autism. (It does not.) I’ve read studies of other suspected long-term side effects.

:woman_shrugging:

As suspected, Mrs G is made of sterner stuff than yours truly. No discernible side effects 48 hrs out from 2nd Pfizer.

I’m still absolutely exhausted. But now that I’m up and out of bed, it’s not too bad. I thought I’d need to call in sick, but nah.

You guys have got me paranoid enough about side effects that I plan to wait until after exam day despite now being eligible :oh_noes:

Ok well keep in mind there is a significant amount of publication bias. People with no side effects probably aren’t going to go out of their way to post about it.

I was more worried about going to the exam unvaccinated.

If you time out your first shot to be a week or so before, it’s a very low chance you’ll be getting major side effects before, since the second is worse.

Keep in mind I usually take a preventative ibuprofen just in case I get a headache during the exam. Certainly don’t want to risk losing any meaningful study time that risks otherwise not having to wait a year to sit again. We are very risk averse with exams haha

But if I catch COVID at the exam I won’t have any symptoms until well after I’ve finished it.

I’m a significant outlier but still ain’t right. Tuesday could barely function again. Yesterday felt almost completely normal. Today I’ve got the weird brain fog going again but am able to work. I have no idea what’s happening to me and neither does anyone else yet. The vestibular forum in the OP continues to grow, so I’m not the only one with similar effects, but no real solutions or explanations have appeared as of yet.

Sorry to hear it, hope you feel better soon.

I got my second Pfizer dose yesterday. Arm soreness started around 12 hours after the shot. A little sore by nothing major and seems the same as the first dose for me. We’ll see how the next couple days go but so far so good.

I’m considering calling the pharmacy and seeing if my Tuesday appointment can be changed to a Thursday or Friday appointment. I’m not feeling so exhausted that I can’t function, but I would certainly prefer to be in bed and sleep all day.
