They revived the Euro vs Copa America winners game and here are the potential dates.

Gonna be hard to schedule, as WC2026 qualifications for both are happening in June.
Then, CWC happening from mid-June to mid-July.
Then, pre-season for clubs starts.
Would have to either squeeze in a third match in June or bump a match and squeeze it in later.
I recommend holding it in the USA, so the CWC players are nearby.
Now, they could move up a couple UEFA matches to June 5 and June 8, so it could be held on June 11 or June 12.
Coincidentally, ARG play COL on CONMEBOL Matchday 16, the second set of matches in June. That could be postponed until later, or move their Matchday 15 and 16 matches a day earlier.
And, let’s not worry about the players’ health.

Clusterfuck in MIA right now. Apparently some gates were breached and lots of fans rushed in. They shut all the gates in response, and there’s a huge crowd in a tight space at the gates. Not a good look for a WC venue.

Game delayed now
It’s still crazy scenes on the ground. There will be a lot of people in the stadium without tickets.
What would top things off completely:
- Fans randomly going onto the pitch to get selfies with Messi
- Fight between fans in the stands, 1980s Europe style [bonus points if it happens while Shakira is yelling “no fighting, no fighting!”]
- Halftime show renders pitch unplayable for the 2nd half
Don’t forget Colombian fans throwing things at the families of the opposition players.
Better to screw up now than 2 years from now!
This was a major organizational failure. I thought the match might get postponed. Hopefully the rest of the evening is uneventful off the pitch.

We had that but after rebooting it seemed OK.

Argentinian fans can even fake it. A guy they just showed had had in hands and covering his eyes like his was crying for Messi. His girlfriend points to the big screen he is on and he is immediately smiling.

That’s why I say “quit showing fans on the big screen.” It adds nothing to the broadcast.
Ref is letting them play, as they say in hockey.
