Format just got even better with Madrid vs City due to both underperforming. At least one will be out before round of 16.
City gave up 13 shots to Leyton Orient today, a League One team that had 26% possession. City played good players and still needed a 79ā goal. How the mighty have fallen.
Plymouth Argyle?
I sense a lot of schandenfreudeā¦
Foot for breakfast, over easy, side of crow.
Not exactly. If Liverpool blows the league and doesnāt make final of CL, then maybe. Crashing out of FA when you are 6 pts clear, qualified first and in final of EFL isnāt same as crashing out of last hope.
Well, RM just made City look like a bunch of old men so this is looking like City will get a big fat nothing this year trophy wise.
Madrid had like zero defense due to injuries and they still managed to win 2-3 at the Etihad.
Guardiola is in trouble here. He needs a serious rebuild (too many older folks) as they just canāt seem to compete anymore with top teams that have younger players.
Will be nice for Los Blancos to meet the reds in the final. Easy win
City shit the bed. That was a crazy finish.
Jude needs to use less flowery language imo. Act like the millionaire that you actually are. Maybe learn some new words for expressing yourself.
āI think [the referee] didnāt understand English well,ā Ancelotti said in his post-match news conference. [Bellingham] said fāk off, not fāk you. [The referee] made a mistake⦠I donāt think itās offensive⦠Bellingham didnāt do anything to get sent off today."
Hey, Ancelotti, fuck off!
The law is pretty clear on this.
āusing offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or action(s)ā
Guess who decides whether the language is āoffensive, insulting or abusiveā? No, it is not the player, not the coach. One more guess.
Los Blancos wiped the floor with City at the Bernabeu.
Onwards for the 16th
Bayern had to work harder, just getting past Celtic thanks to a late goal by Alphonso Davies. Hope Davies is healthy for CONCACAF Nations: he is just back from injuries and seems injury-prone.
The draw
Club Brugge (Belgium) vs. Aston Villa (England)
Borussia Dortmund (Germany) vs. Lille (France)
Real Madrid (Spain) vs. Atletico Madrid (Spain)
Bayern Munich (Germany) vs. Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)
PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) vs. Arsenal (England)
Feyenoord (Netherlands) vs. Inter Milan (Italy)
Paris Saint-Germain (France) vs. Liverpool (England)
Benfica (Portugal) vs. Barcelona (Spain)
What a weird looking draw.
Spain vs Spain derby [RM vs AM]
Germany vs Germany derby [BM vs BL]
PSG vs Liverpool should be a great matchup
Marsch is great. Wish there were more Americans like him.
Madrid derby this afternoon!
Serie A looking toward USA for a league match.
I would suggest, for logistical purposes, Inter v Juventus to begin next season, since they will both be already in the USA for the Club WC next summer. Seems bad to make players play a match in Italy, fly 12 hours or whatever to the USA, play a match, then take another 12 hour flight back, and play another match. Maybe the teams/league care about their players the same as NFL teams and owners.
Bayern won surprisingly easily. Kane scores twice and Davies had a strong game.
I think BL has lost a bit of its edge.
On another note, Liverpool basically robbed PSG.
PSG completely dominated that game but Allison had the game of his life.
Nunez and Elliott are the type of late additions that make a difference. Nunez has 4 assists and 2 goals in all competitions this year after 80ā. Elliott assisted on one of those goals and scored on one of the assists. He also has another second half substitution goal in CL. I doubt they will concede 71% possession again, but if that is plan, I would expect Nunez to start as he is better counter attacker than Jota. Second game in 3 weeks conceding 66%+ and winning with a clean sheet. Not bad for top scoring team to be able to adapt.
