Oops. The declare-only is imps, unintentionally. I didn’t notice until I finished and saw preliminary results.
procrastinator wins the regular challenge with +28.00, by 27.25. Reissued
Two odd bidding explanations from yesterday’s Day 2 of the weekend survivor:
Exactly 1 heart, and likely a heart stopper? Isn’t the only singleton stopper the ace?
WTF? Gerber asked aces, 4D was 0 to 4 and he signs off when I say 4? And yes, it must be saying 4 when he has a strong hand (but sees no aces) and I’ve shown at least 17 HCP.
Fortunately I bid 6 anyway, and made 7 (7 needs finding the heart Q and a favorable break in hearts or spades. Bots’ tendency to cover honors made finding the heart Q better than 50-50). 6 NT making 7 was 49.6%
NN wins the declare-only, which was inadvertently imps, with +7.00, by 1.84. AA finished only 3 boards of our individual challenge; all three were pushed. Both reissued, with declare-only matchpoints.
I beat procrastinator by 28 and NN by 2. Both reissued
oirg wins the regular challenge with +17.25, by 14.00. Reissued
NN wins the declare-only with 60.16%, by 3.13%. I lose to AA by 11. Both reissued
Win by 2 vs procrastinator, by 8 vs NN. Both reissued
NN wins the regular challenge with +17.00, by 9.25. Reissued
NN wins the declare-only with 55.47%, by 0.78%. I beat AA by 23. Both reissued
Lose by 21 to NN. Should have been by 10, except for a misclick that led to defending 2S doubled instead of 2S undoubled. Lose by 18 to procrastinator, when both of us (on identical auctions) defended 3H doubled, making with an overtrick.
Somewhat oddly, in the match against NN, both of us attempted to pass out 2S our way vul (when I think we were both aware that there’s a big bonus for a vul game at imps), then pushed to 4 when an opponent reopened and partner then raised to 3S. 4S could have been beaten, double dummy, but as the play went just needed trumps 3-2.
Both reissued.
NN wins the regular challenge with +16.25, by 14.00. I beat AA by 22. Both reissued.
Blew timing again. Timed out as I was playing the challenge against procrastinator, over half done. Didn’t start vs NN. Both reissued.
Looks like I missed the declare only also, so I reissued that.
I win the low-scoring regular challenge with +6.00, by 2.50. I beat AA by 19. Both reissued
Accidentally, the declare-only challenge is IMPs
Most likely everyone else had finished before I posted that alert, since everyone has finished now. NN won with +18.00, by 6.50. Reissued, matchpoints.
I beat procrastinator by 8 and NN by 31. Both reissued
Did I miss a couple of challenge deadlines? Went today thinking I’d have two to play, but none show up, so I may have been off by a day. Apologies.
In other news, I played the daylong and had a near “perfect” result given the hands.
