Best things about Costco

I’m less than 24 hours away from my annual trip to Costco. Usually, I get some wool socks but last year, they didn’t have any and I was really disappointed. Hope they have some this year.

Good luck! Wear a helmet!

The lady of the house got some wool socks there 2 years ago and was disappointed when they didn’t have them this past year.

That’s why there’s crawl spaces. The rest of the details, you can get from any of the TV shows that discuss murder and nearly getting away with it.

Alternate ideas: be friends with a pig farmer.

Then you can fill your freezer with bacon and dispose of dead bodies. Win win!

When we were looking at the house we’re now in, we were looking through the basement and saw the covers to the crawl spaces under the living room and dining area in the kitchen. My youngest opened it up and their eyes got huge and they exclaimed DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY DEAD BODIES WE COULD HIDE IN HERE?

That may or may not have influenced our decision to get an upright freezer.

I refused to get a Discover card after having been rejected by Sears when we wanted to make a large purchase for our home early in my career.

I suggested that for dinner and was vetoed. On the plus side, I’m not responsible for dinner tonight.

I am a frequent Costco shopper. One thing to note is that they VERY REGULARLY change over their inventory on a sort-of annual basis. For instance, they have Kirkland Holiday coffee k-cups but those are generally available in mid November through early December. They sell out their inventory and then you have to wait until next year. There are also other non-alcoholic beverages that they stock around December that are never there any time else.

I have bought wool socks there. They usually stock those from the late fall through January. By February, they are usually stocking fewer winter items and have moved on to Spring-related seasonal items. Sadly, waiting until late Feb might be a poor strategy for getting your beloved wool socks.

I picked up some wool socks yesterday. They only had men’s, not women’s, but I have man-sized feet so it works for me.

This rotisserie chicken is about 30% larger than the ones I get from Kroger, at about 70% of the cost. Tastes good too! Will be added to the weekly rotation.

True. Some of the Kirkland brand wines from Europe will only appear once a year for about two or three weeks. If it’s a wine that you liked from last year ( for example, Gigondas or Barolo), you better buy enough for a year because it probably won’t be there next time you visit.

@Echo will be right over. She’s experienced at supervising chicken-stripping.
