You can get a package of raspberries for like $2.50 vs $5 at other places
Half gallon of organic milk for $3.50 vs $6
The only place that comes close to the cost savings of Aldi is Costco but that’s another 5 miles away from me
Aldi closes way earlier than the Costco here so I still find myself at Costco a good bit during the week as I usually wait for the kids to go to bed to run my errands
Last time we were at Costco someone had filled their entire cart with those big flats that I think have 96 eggs each. I assumed it was a breakfast place stocking up.
A little googling learned to me that Aldi started accepting credit cards in 2016, so almost 9 years ago. I was unaware. From antiquity (by which I mean the 1980s) Aldi did not accept cc’s and I never heard otherwise until knoath told me so.
Marc’s also didn’t accept credit cards until sometime after 2015. I shopped there in college and had to bring my checkbook, which was unusual even back in 2004/2005.
I’m the same way. Comes from not having oj when I was growing up. We didn’t have luxuries like that.
Except what I do is add an extra tin of water. I think it calls for three tins of water. I put in four. You can pass that pro tip on to your father :).
I refuse to drink frozen concentrate orange juice. This dates back to the 1980’s when speculators such as the Duke brothers controlled the FCOJ market.
man, i remember thinking i arrived when i upgraded to the high end minute maid frozen. now I don’t drink oj at home at all, but if I did it would not be the frozen kind.
I occasionally feel like maybe I should buy OJ, but with the whatever blight hitting the FL citrus crop, it’s running about $7 for a half gallon at my local store.
