It won’t “go bad” per se but opened liquor will start to loose some flavor and alcohol content over time, generally more than 2 years. Lower proof liquors will generally be more noticeable in flavor and high proof liquors more in potency.
Hmmm… ok, so I should probably cull anything opened for more than several years.
Party at twig’s house!
I keep a muffin tin (covered with plastic wrap) in my deep freeze. If I have leftover wine from a party or dinner or whatever, I pour it into the cups. Then when I’m cooking something that calls for wine to be added, I have some to toss in.
I do this even with recipes/sauces that don’t call for wine.
That is the most suburban mom thing ever lol.
I thought the suburban mom thing was to not have leftover wine in the first place?
They are too big for my family.
Yeah, I have to really restrain myself to spend less than $300. And there are many items I can’t buy bc we won’t use them in time.
I’ve gone to Costco for a solitary item more than once, and it’s not common that I spend more than $200 in a trip. However, I typically go to Costco at least once a week.
My first thought was: what’s leftover wine?
Vinegar?
Exactly!
(That said anymore I buy the 375 mL variety packs at Costco because even with BF helping we probably won’t finish 750 mL in a night. Yes, I’m getting old.)
I love to entertain but when the party’s over, it’s just me! 2 or 3 bottles with less than a glass in them, the freezer is a better option!
Don’t feel obligated to finish the bottle of wine. The cork (or screw top) will keep it good for a few days. Throw it in the fridge and it’ll stay good for even longer.
Costco membership prices to increase this fall. An extra $5 for the basic, $10 for the executive. They haven’t raised the prices for seven years, which is pretty wild.
Yeah but it will last for months in the deep freeze and it’s great for cooking.
I don’t drink wine very often. So if others at a party don’t finish the bottle, I either try to get someone to take it or I freeze it.
I mean yeah, that’s what ice cube trays are for.
Ah, I am sorry, but you vill haff to click on ze link!
