my chair has been delivered! don’t feel like going to the lobby yet to get it though. that might be a weekend project.
okay, my doorman had other plans for my chair rather than make it a weekend project since the box was huge and taking up space in the lobby. brought it up to my apartment. it seems pretty good i think. gonna stick to my couch for today since i don’t want to start re-arranging stuff.
That was nice of them. The box for the chair I bought was crazy big… and then I opened it to find a fully put together chair, which was a very nice surprise. Hope yours is pre-assembled too
yes, it was pre-assembled. i mean that’s the least they can do with how expensive this chair was!
now i’m stressing about whether i made the right choice to get the “A” size.
i think it’s fine. i think.
i assume i won’t return it, but on the website, it says it’s important to keep the original packaging if you return it. is that negotiable? the doorman took it out. it’s also humongous and would take up too much space in my apartment.
in looking at the questions, it looks like you’re supposed to have a 2-3 finger gap between the back of your knee and the end of the chair. i think that’s what i have with the “A” size, so it’s probably correct and the “B” would be too big.
How much deeper is the seat on the B size?
i’m not sure. it doesn’t seem to say on the website. it felt pretty similar to me when testing the 2, but the sales person thought A was better for me based on where it ended relative to the back of my knee. the width of the seat is 1.25 smaller for the A vs B. that was another concern cause i have wide hips. i think it’s okay though as long as i don’t get much fatter.
Looks like it’s 1 1/4” deeper, if you have a 2-3 finger gap then the B could be tight. You do want some space so the back of your knees isn’t rubbing the seat.
where do you see that it’s 1 1/4" deeper? I only see the width on the website, not the depth.
Page 2 says 15 3/4” vs 17” depth. Possible I’m not looking at the right model.
ah, i didn’t see that on the site. yeah, small is probably good then.
my desk is arriving friday. it is coming in 8 boxes!!! i have to contact the place that they get to put it together for me that i paid an extra $300 for. i hope they wear a mask without my having to say anything. i didn’t think about the covid risk much, but now am.
i still need to get a monitor to put on the arm. it’s confusing on amazon as to whether or not they are mountable. like the description will sometimes say they are and then in the Q&A people will say they are NOT! I think this one is and I think the Q&A agrees with it. I don’t know what to look for in a monitor, but this one says mountable, so I was gonna go with it:
It’s mountable. In the pic of the back you can see the four bolt holes.
The problem people may have is that there’s different sizes of mounting brackets. But the mount should accommodate different sizes. Just make sure the mount is rated for monitors that size.
If you go to the ViewSonic site, under specs it says:
Mount
VESA Compatible
100 x 100
So, yeah, it’s mountible.
ordered that monitor. my main concern with it is that some of the reviews says it’s super difficult to get the base off of it to mount it. we’ll see.
i saw another one that seemed to be higher rated, but it’s curved. i’m not sure i’d like a curved feature. i’d have to get used to it.
the desk arrives tomorrow and i scheduled having it assembled on tuesday. i told the company in the email correspondence that the dude HAS to wear a mask cause i live in a studio apartment and therefore cannot social distance. that portion of my email was ignored. i hope it was ignored cause well of course they wear a mask. don’t want to need to have a confrontation here.
the dude is putting my desk together now. he agreed to put my new monitor on the monitor arm too. i hope i don’t catch covid from him. i have both windows open, but in a studio apartment, i can’t really socially distance. he is wearing a mask, but it seems loose fitting and i saw him push it up a few times.
should i tip him? if so, how much?
it cost an extra $300 for assembly if that matters.
I usually feel awkward if I don’t tip people like that in the house but it’s very dependent on how friendly they are. Is he a nice guy? I’d probably give him $10-20 depending how long it takes.
Well, assuming he does an OK, job and puts your moniter on for you, $20?
10 bucks looks cheap to me, 30 bucks is too much.
