Agreed, but the IV is insane, and the Sept puts were expensive. Idk, might buy some of those too. It’s gambling.
My guess: no, not at all. Trump supporters seem energized by having more of their money flushed down the toilet by Trump. Just evidence of the deep state trying to keep a great man down.
Are you talking about the people behind X or the actual experience of using it? The only difference I have noticed in the past whatever months is that some stories have a “fake” tag to it and have the truth posted below it citing some article. I feel like that is an improvement on the app. What changes have been made to make it “worse”?
Apparently there were a good chunk of people coordinated on Reddit who bought progressively higher and higher calls, never intending to hold the stock but just betting on rubes pumping it in order to support Daddy Trump.
Wish I’d done the same, but I’ve never bought a call or put so I wasn’t established to begin doing it. Was an obvious play in retrospect to bet that MAGAts would dump their savings into a worthless stock.
I wonder how many were/are DJT supporters, vs the usual WallStreetBets crowd that likes to play with anything that’s trending.
I enabled options trading years ago and broke even on a call for… I want to say Blackberry when they were popular on WSB. I’m normally pretty risk-averse (shocking) but I’ve always wanted to short a company just to say I did. And this feels like the right time to do it, lol. So I’m not what you’d call a real player in the options markets.
The ones I followed were decidedly NOT Trump fans, they just saw an opportunity to profit off of them. No intent to ever hold the stock.
A recent example from the weekend was that Nancy Mace posted something about crime skyrocketing due to Biden’s policies…it actually dropped in 2023. A community note was added, then dropped from the post.
A couple possibilities were floated as to why: 1) at Musk’s direction or 2) because the community downvoted it off. So either official policy, or one that is a result of the user base shifting right (through attrition of left leaning users).
I have seen a lot more absolute crap floating up, usually from looking at the comments to certain tweets or in the suggested news feed. But none of this should be surprising…when you take off or reduce the content moderation, more shit slips through. Because its the internet.
I have not.
You want to know my secret?
It’s got Paul Anka’s guarantee…
RN, and I’m having similar results using that method.
lol
This is so reflective of our current times of utterly irrational exuberance.
$10bn “valuation” with less than $1mn in quarterly revenue
PE is practically in another dimension. When will this stop?

Ah I see. I don’t following any political type things/people so I wouldn’t see this of stuff so that makes sense why I wouldn’t notice a difference
lol…I originally signed up so I could see Trump’s tweets, then added some people that now follow Trump “so I dont have to.”
But yeah, that corner of X has changed a lot. Musk has become his own right wing dumpster fire, and X has followed.
It’s also full of bot activity now, which is funny given how much Musk complained about that prepurchase. It’s mostly fembots.
having just watched the movie dumb money there is no way I would short this stock. there are a lot of people motivated by the lib tears enough to make my short positions hurt me.
It is why puts are the way to go. Long-term ones. You only lose what you invested, if at all.
Heck, straddle the bitch if you want.
I’m leaning towards Elmo ordering community notes that he doesn’t like be removed
In terms of changes to Twitter content, the biggest are that Musk got rid of almost the entire content moderation team, which leads to things like user names of GasTheJews1488 not being banned. He lost a lawsuit last week against a group that found and reported 300 racist / white supremacist / anti-semitic tweets and then reported that 86% of them were still up a week later. It’s also been observed that offensive tweets from people who pay for blue checkmarks are less likely to be taken down than those by anonymous users. And speaking of which, blue checks get priority in sorting responses. With no actual benefit for paying for the site, people with blue checks skew heavily towards Elon fanboys, making their prioritized posts skew right wing.
At the same time that he is allowing hate speech, under the guise of being a free speech absolutist, the words cis and cisgender have been deemed hate speech, and now result in auto moderation of the posts. Musk is a major snowflake when it comes to speech he dislikes.
He’s the ministry of truth regardless of the method.
Thanks. I have heard about many of those things over time but it’s hard to keep up with it all.
A minimum level of content moderation is required to keep environments truly open and inviting. Yes, too much moderation can be an issue as well… similar to policing in public. X has become openly hostile. I don’t post anything, just have an account in order to follow others, so i have no posts that can be targeted. It’s really taken an ugly personality.
