South Dakota passes the anti-trans sports ban. Failed for 7 years, but it went through. :frowning:

Good for the governor.

Googled it after your post. Sounds like he was trying to find a compromise between LGBTQ advocates and social conservatives on the topic, and neither side liked it. So instead of continuing to try to find a solution, the conservative side changed the bill at the last minute to add the ban?

Yes, I mean, Utah already has the 1 year waiting period after T suppression for trans girls to play in sports (which is pretty unnecessary until late teen years for some sports, and unnecessary for any age for other sports), which is already a compromise from the science-based position of ‘trans girls should be able to play high school sports as their gender regardless, because there is no evidence of trans girls having an advantage and it is much better for their mental health’.
