Is your in-law named Bumpus?

Negative. Jokes were made though, naturally.

It might have gotten into the :tumbler_glass:, as well.

So after getting a few boilerplate emails back to the nature of “we’re sorry you were affected by a schedule change”, they basically told me to go away as they weren’t able to provide any other explanation.

Ok, I filed a complaint with the DOT instead.

The US really needs laws like the EU has regarding air carriers.

Quite annoyed just thinking about last weekend visiting family back home. Some of my extended family apparently still drink and drive.

One of them lost their license from a dui. They had some drinks and I think some mj thought the day. Nothing excessive, but still. Then they borrowed their father’s car, drove home for a beer at supper time, then came back.

Their brother hung around, was drinking then mentioned going to a party in Ottawa that night, about an hour away. I’m confident they were going to drive there, drink some more, then drive home.

Nothing I could do about it. Mentioning something would blow the lid off things,.and they’d just continue anyway.

I know if I was in a spot where they could be identified, I’d call the cops though.

What does that mean? That in this case calling would do nothing since the cops wouldn’t find them?

Unsure calling would be a good idea anyway. If driving impairment is mild, definite harm/injury to the person who gets the dui, even though deserved, vs often no harm to public (but sometimes extremely serious harm to public), with harm to public not deserved. But then perhaps effect on future driving should also be considered, another plus for calling.

Yeah, I was wondering this myself.

Eh, every time a person is drinking and driving or toking and driving or anything elseing and driving the public is harmed by having an unsafe driver on the roads who illegally puts others at risk. Just because they didn’t kill anyone last night doesn’t mean the public wasn’t harmed IMO.

I stepped in a puddle in the parking lot and now I have a wet foot at the gym. I hate the feeling of wet shoes.

It means if I’m driving behind them I’d be calling the popo with a ‘theres a drunk driver in front of me’.

Were they impaired such that they should not drive or were they just drinking ?

Don’t know about Canada, but in the UK there is a Police line you can call for this sort of issue. You would be surprised at how many people call in.

in the US that would be great, despite how much it would be abused as low-grade rolling SWAT-ting

had a flight home this week with a SIX hour layover in charlotte. was a very long day. company policy on flight cost didn’t factor in human toll. amid the layover I saw an opportunity and almost spent 45K miles of my own to switch airlines and save 4 hrs. But I had a checked bag and getting it back somehow was going to be a PIA. But this will be in play next time I need to get to this location
