Annoyed Thoughts

Not an Annoyed Thought but that’s really cool.

Do any homeowners insurers have opinions on insuring 3D houses?

Dang it! I forgot to ‘dress as another poster for Halloween’ this year!

My annual AO Fan costume lay as a dormant .jpg file on my desktop this year…

Gee thanks. Drive a half hour to the dealership. Sit over an hour in the waiting room for the car to get fixed. Get told the parts not in, please rebook.

But how was the “free” coffee?

I’m trying to piece together a trip this spring connecting
Budapest / Vienna / Prague
(arriving at one endpoint and leaving from the other)
using 73,000 Air France miles

Getting a Ph.D. in physics would be easier. Assuming you insist on 2+ hr connections.

Have you been before?

I loved Prague and Budapest, wish we’d spent more time at the latter. Didn’t care as much for Vienna, it was much more sterile feeling.

I’m planning three days in each destination plus one day in Bratislava. I can adjust if I think I only need two at a location. Will probably open up a thread on that topic when I nail down the dates.

Bratislava is one I would skip on a return visit. It was incredibly depressing and bleak, very soviet-esque. It was cool to check another country off my list, but it wasn’t my favorite place by any stretch.

It’s right on the way between a train journey from Budapest to Vienna so I shall certainly spend a half day there, but if that’s the most it deserves, that’s all it will get. But I’m not going to travel that far and not at least take a peek…

Getting a boat up the Danube between Budapest and Vienna will also take you right by Bratislava. Plus the scenery is very good.

My regular sbux was highly peopley, so I went down the road. Choice B is also peopley.

I am torn. I’m not thrifty, but I just don’t buy a lot of stuff. I’m not a shopper.

But this Amazon program I’m on, we are getting loads in almost every day.

Today:
Smartwatch my sister wanted.
Underwater fishing camera and tripod for me
Christmas gift for the granddaughter.
Christmas gift for my sisters granddaughter.

I detest the consumerism, that much stuff coming in the house.

Otoh, free stuff from the bin of 'i like it, but wouldn’t have bought it’s.

Not a humblebrag, the Amazon guy shows up and I’m like, wtf, this isn’t right.

Now it’s stoopid hot in all the businesses.

I went to the eye doctor today. I complained a year ago of very dry eyes, that weren’t helped by eye drops. He told me to take specific eye drops, and it didn’t help, but I didn’t feel like going back to deal with it. I’ve already been dealing with it for years.

Today I told him the pain was very bad and he decided to do a test to see how long it takes my tears to dry (why didn’t he do this last year??). He said “wow!! Your eyes are drier than 75% of people, you ought to be in a lot of pain much of the time!” And I said “…I am…like I’ve been saying for a year.”

Anyway, now I’m on a prescription eye drop I guess.

Hope it works … that sounds un-fun.

A couple times a week when I wake up my eyelids feel like sandpaper scraping across my eyeballs, so it can’t really get worse! I’ve started keeping aerosol water next to my bed to mist my eyes when it happens.

Would a humidifier for the room help? I get trouble with nosebleeds when it gets too dry and we might have to look into getting a humidifier for the winter. I have been noticing my eyes are getting itchier too.

I ordered toys from Amazon for Christmas for the grandkids. When the order came, there were two of one toy. I thought Amazon made a mistake and sent me two. Turned out I inadvertently ordered two. That’ll teach me not to order things in the middle of the night when I’m half asleep. Stooopid!
I thought of returning the extra toy, but I remembered that there are toy drives here for Christmas. So, I’ll just donate it.
