Annoyed Thoughts

Yeah, 14 inches was the biggest I could find.

Concession stand manager before me stocked the “giant” pixie stix. Plastic straw, white w/light blue stripes, not paper like home version, somewhere between 1.5 - 2.5 cm in diameter, 75cm or so long.

Hook me up bro

Email subject from a restaurant: Brunch Is on Us!

Body of email: Come down to Misleading Subject Restaurant this Saturday and Sunday for brunch and leave the cooking to us!
Allow us to take care of the food and you take care of enjoying great company.

:-?
So, on a usual day, do you require your patrons to do the cooking? Then you should call your self Cosmo’s Pizzeria.

I just had HVAC guy out for a tuneup. Now, my furnace isn’t working…it might be a Nest issue. This Nest thermostat has been the most disappointing pos that I’ve ever installed in my house.

I would like a smart thermostat, we had one for a while when our electric company gave it to us for free, but then it became illegal for the electric company to monitor and regulate our charges that way so they disabled the smart component of them.

I had to mail a package at the post office. The closest PO to my house closes for lunch from 1:30-2:30. I got there at 1:18 and those **ckers had already closed.

That really annoys me as well.

Happens a lot over here.

Conversely my daughter used to work at a small town pharmacy that was multi-generational - been there forever. If someone called in and said they were running late, the store stayed open. Close at 5:30, but you’ll be there by 6? No problem.

the hallway between the elevator and the hotel room wed night smelled like litterbox.

(the room itself was the dingiest i’ve been in over the last n years of business travel. but. yay, it was in the company’s compliance list.)

oh, company’s hotel room cost compliance. just don’t send us to meetings in big cities if we have to stay in a hostel

We used Emerson Sensi thermostats for years, a little more basic but easy to use and never had a problem.

My EE friend who worked in HVAC controls for years also likes the Honeywell products. He isn’t a huge fan of Nest.

solid products. I usually like those a lot…thermostats, fans, whatever.

It wasn’t Nest. HVAC guy forgot to reattach the igniter. :man_shrugging: I’m glad it was an easy fix and I apologize to Messrs. Fadell, Filson, and Bould, though, the thermostat still does things (like go into eco mode, not follow my schedule ) without my telling it to, so it hasn’t been worth the premium paid for it.

I requested some flat rate boxes from USPS to ship Max’s quilt and I am still waiting on them.

That’s what the previous owners had installed in my house and is one of the few “smart” products I’ve actually figured out. No issues but I don’t change it up much.

My son is switching from Ritalin to Adderall, and there’s a shortage, so it’s been hard to find a pharmacy with it in stock.

My dog would like to post in this thread. She’s staring at me through the back slider and whining for me to come out and throw the ball.
