Go dig some holes in the back yard.
I’m not annoyed (too much) by Christmas commercials being aired “too early” but I am annoyed by commercials that take a well known song and bastardize it.
I just heard the tune “walkin in a winter wonderland” with the words “shop at your [? ?] old navy store”
It might be time to bump the whamageddon thread
I was trying to dice an onion for my risotto when the knife slipped throught he onion and caught the tip of my left pinkie. Wah. ![]()
ETA: And I chipped off a bit of fingernail. Waaaaah. ![]()
I hope you don’t have a plant named Seymour
I feel like this Amazon review program that I’m part of is like needful things. They’re delivering stuff almost every day, and that’s a bit more consumerism than id like to be participating in.
Otoh, free stuff. And they bumped me up to the top tier, so there’s some decently expensive stuff in there occasionally. Someone posted that they got a $2k espresso machine this week. I’d totally click on that then realize I don’t really drink espresso.
They are no fun to chase when they are dead though.
Yup…it’s been too long.
TAP just got back to me today and they offered either:
Option 1
104.000 miles in my TAP Miles & Go account
Option 2
€600
They put me in the max category for compensation (vs the marginally lower one) because I also arrived home 5h later than I would have (replacement flight vs cancelled flight)
You never get responses this quickly in my experience unless its the direct fault of the airline (in terms of say their own technical problems cancelling a flight).
Took me two months to get our expenses reimbursed from Easyjet from our July trip to Munich (they cancelled the flight due to ATC restrictions from adverse weather).
Trash day is currently Tuesday, and recycling day is Thursday. Trash is operated by the city, recycling is contracted to a private company.
When there is a holiday in the week prior to collection, both are delayed by a day. But then trash stays at the new day of the week the following week, and recycling goes back to Thursday.
And they don’t have the same holidays, necessarily. Like Indigenous Peoples Day; it’s a holiday for trash, but not recycling. It can get pretty confusing. Thankfully, a few years ago the city provided a calendar to download to your phone that provides the dates, but I still mess it up now and then.
My pillow knocked over the water glass on my nightstand at 5 a.m.
Didn’t get back to sleep
Vent repair guy was an hour and a half late, told us the repair would take an hour and it’s been over two. I am going to be late for a work meeting now. It’s fine, worse things to be doing than sitting on the couch.
I bought ‘giant pixy straws’, .37 ounces. They just arrived. They are not giant.
Shrinkflation!
I wondered what Canadian magic you were pulling because I couldn’t find any of the 3’ size this side of the border.
How not giant are they?
.37 oz should have been a clue.
They’re a regular size. maybe 15 inches long? And about half the diameter of a regular straw. There’s nothing giant about them.
or as I like to say, ‘is that what you tell your girlfriend?’.
