Annoyed Thoughts

I have to coordinate with my brother on a trip back home in November. All I keep getting is either being left on read, or a list of reasons why he can’t make a long list of dates. He just fails to prioritize going back to my mother/sister’s place.
I finally told him to stop giving me dates he can’t make it, and give me a date in november that he can make it. His response? First week of December. Jeezus.
OK, so is that December 1st weekend or the following weekend? And…I get left on read.
He just got the text telling him I’m going home on December 1 weekend and he can either be there or not, but I’ve got stuff to do.
No wonder mom likes me best.

Does this mean that you know he’s read your message but he hasn’t replied?

Yep.

Forgot that one. We go every 5 or 6 weeks nowadays I’d guess.

Did you ever try calling him?

Yes. Doesnt matter now. Him and his wife get pissy about stuff then they get sort of passive aggressive. They bailed from thanksgiving dinner yesterday with a weak excuse, so i figure theyre going no contact. Then theyll pop up like it was nothing.

I just ignore it and proceed under my own steam. My spouse gets a bit offended. Eh, its just part of a larger family drama that i dont participate in.

Thought I’d arranged tasks for maximum efficiency but effed up and ended up wasting a big chunk of personal time.

One of the students I take out for activities has threatened a lawsuit against Walmart. I guess they roughed her up a bit, without provocation. They’re doing all the footwork without a lawyer right now. I guess I was surprised but on reflection not really, that Walmart seems to be taking it seriously. So an IRL case of I smell a lawsuit.

They’re also heavily involved with trans activism at the school, to the point t of consuming their day. I emphasized twice that they need to slow down a bit and focus on their studies, and do the activism in their off hours, or after they graduated.

Typical 20 something, they agree then ignore lol.

It sounds like you are downplaying this more than I would based on that comment.

Does the person go by They? or is this a group of kids. But if she was roughed up, how is this activism, as opposed to justice? A lawyer would make more sense

Left hand, at the base of the sweet, defenseless pinkie.

It hurtied and there was blood. Wah.

Clarification. The activism and lawsuit are two different things.

I think I saw in their profile a she/they pronoun but I don’t know how they refer to themselves. It’s never come up. I only know they’re trans because they disclosed it.

Added, I just looked at their profile and it’s they/them. So I got it right.

I’m driving past a clump of trees by my place when stoopid neighbour dog steps off the curb and almost into the path of my car. Good thing I was going slow.

ETA: Stoopid neighbour dog trotted out of his driveway this morning almost in my path. Dum dawg!!!

I thought the Corningware I was using in the oven had cooled off enough on top of the stove. I was somewhat wrong.
