Annoyed Thoughts--Other Drivers Edition

Out for an evening walk, I watched as 2 cars at 2 different 3-way stops by my place slow to about 25 km/h and just merrily breeze through.

Lady stopped across from me at the intersection is obviously not paying attention. I want to make a left, but she has no signals on and it wouldn’t surprise me if she decided to go straight and cut me off. Another few seconds go bye and she finally decides to signal left: there was nobody coming either way until she decided to signal.

Happy ending: a few vehicles backed up behind her. Buddy in a big truck leans out his window and screams “GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND DRIVE!”

  1. Buddy riding my :peach: on the highway on-ramp gives me a dirty look as he merges and passes me.
  2. A wankpanzer passed me on the highway shortly after.
  3. I get to the 3-way stop first and start to make my left. Another buddy coming from the other direction was coming in so fast I swear he wasn’t gonna stop!
ETA 4. Kid on a motocross bike goes into the right turn lane, proceeds all the way to the light, and then makes a sudden left ACROSS THE CROSSWALK to get to the left turn lane. Of course, this is in the middle of backed up traffic.

Yet another wankpanzer passed me on the highway: it was painted black. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Maybe they’ve been listening to the Rolling Stones lately

Regular pedal or e-bike? Saw a guy going up a bit of a hill and my wife was pretty impressed with how fast he was going until I said it was an e-bike.

I ended up behind a rusted out old truuuuck that I swear did not have working rear lights. Naturally, I kept a healthy distance behind him.

Was on the highway yesterday in the middle lane of 3 lanes. Driver in the left lane realized he missed his exit. Well, technically he was 100 yards short of the exit, but at 70 mph in the left hand lane, that means you missed your exit and might have to drive an extra mile or two to the next exit.

Brotato decided to slow to 10mph in the left hand lane, then cut across the other 2 lanes. Fortunately I was able to double check that I had plenty of space in the right hand lane ahead of time and could dodge his ass.

I was driving along a curved road when I see some maroon in a white van cross a couple of feet over the yellow line in the opposite lane. Of course, I slowed down and let :poop: :top_hat: get back into his lane.

Did it look like this?

Bright yellow wankpanzer!!!

Some days I dread driving on the Merritt Parkway.

I was 3rd in line at a light. Doofus in the lead just sat there for a couple of seconds after the light turned green.

Older woman in a red convertible Caddy is in the left turn lane with me behind her. The light turns green and she just sits there. I had to tap the horn. :unamused:

Was following a dude in a pickup truck on the way back from the grocery store. He honks at and flips off the car he was following after it went into the left turn lane. No idea what happened. About 10 seconds later, another car turns left from a side road and cuts-in in front of him. From what I could tell, the only inconvenience that resulted from this that was required would have been to let off the accelerator to make a bit of space. Instead, he dramatically swerved into the left turn lane to communicate his displeasure?

I followed a vehicle out of a parking lot turning left onto a 5 lane road (2 travel lanes in each direction and a left turn lane in the middle. I could see that there were no cars coming from the right so I turned directly into the inside travel lane. The knucklehead I was following turned into the left turn lane and stopped to see when he would be able to merge into the empty inside lane. Sure glad I went directly into the inside lane or I probably would have rear ended him.

I’m in the left turn lane about 3 metres (9 ft for my American friends) behind a van who has gone a few feet over the white barrier line. Of course, a city bus is trying to make its own left around buddy, but can’t. Bus driver waves to buddy who moves FORWARD and to the right. After a couple of seconds, he wises up and reverses to give the bus more leeway. :man_facepalming:
