Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Hmm,

I have two plastic boards that i can run through the dishwasher for meat. A smaller, lighter plastic board that i use for cutting onions, and other veggies if I’ll be cutting onions. A wooden board that’s built in that i use for cheese and veggies that aren’t smelly. A wooden bread board. A large wooden board I use to serve cheese and crackers when I have company. (Remember having company over?) A pair of cute wooden boards shaped like an apple and a pig that we don’t actually use…

That’s pretty much it.

No…I’ve never had company over…I have no social skills and, thus, no friends.

Even drug commercials for dogs use the same annoying template and style as drug commercials for people.

Dogs in hot tubs?

Crabgrass. :rage: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Better than crabs in your private lawn IYKWIM.

I’m sure a cardiologist could clear that right up for me!!! :crab:

Expecting a package from the east coast, which was supposed to arrive on Saturday. I figured it was delayed from weather issues or whatever, no big deal. Tracking showed that it was within a few miles of me yesterday morning. This morning tracking shows it about 100 miles from me.

See, mailman is bad. Bad as squirrels. :dog:

Some restaurant commercial, probably Applebee’s, where the waiter/waitress delivers the food and the customer, though there’s no audio, says “That’s what I’m talkin’ about!!!”.

The phrase annoys me. The fact that the words are, essentially, mouthed annoys me. The fact that I can read lips well enough to know what s/he is saying annoys me. Applebee’s annoys me. Commercials annoey me. My bad speeling also annoys me.

Ruptured water main is gonna cost me $3k, ouch. Water is currently off, hoping to get that going again yet today!

I’ve had to replace my sewage pipe that exits the house and goes to the street when that broke. That was in the same ballpark.

But the city makes you pay for the water main? I thought the water pipe don’t become the homeowners problem until after the delivery pipe hits the water meter?

Maybe that’s not the correct terminology, I’m replacing the pipe from the meter (near the street) all the way to where the pipe enters my house in the basement, it’s ~70 linear feet. It’s galvanized pipe… so I’m guessing at least 40 years old?

I guess every region has their peculiarities. In my area the water meters are all in our basements. I cannot imagine what you mean by water meter near the street.

Where I live, I believe the water is the city’s responsibility until it enters your house, so the city would pay for the work. In my area, the sewage line is the homeowner’s responsibility from the house all the way to the street.

Interesting. This is exactly how mine works, the meter sits in a pit with a little metal manhole cover (appx 10" diameter) covering it. The city water pipes run from meter to meter, and then the homeowner picks up responsibility to get it into the house.

yeah, the picture really helps it make perfect sense. It’s just not a setup I am familiar with.

My water meter is in the garage. But I think if there’s a problem between the main and my house, it’s my problem.

I just noticed today that either the legs on my piano bench are making it tilt or the floor below it is uneven making it tilt. It seems like it’s the floor below it because if I move the piano bench it stops doing that. ANYWAY, it’s really annoying and affects my concentration playing. I’m really not sure why I never noticed it until now, but now that I have, it annoys me so much that I cannot play well. I figured out a kickass way to fix it, by putting stacks of paper underneath it. looks messy, but does the job.
