Just go get one.
Do you do a ton of cooking? If not, you can get a cheap range and oven from Home Depot for about $500

Are there only perhaps 20 different commercials on TV? I swear I hear the one commercial with little kid daddy, it’s for you every 5 minutes, and … well, I’m ready to tell the little shit to STFU already.
If it is working again, why the heck would I just get a new one? Sometimes ranges get testy and need to rest, like people. I use it to make breakfast every morning.
Because one day it’s gonna stop working. And Murphy’s law tells us that it will be in the most inopportune moment.
Ranges should not be “testy.” You open the valve, gas floods in, the igniter sparks and the gas is set aflame. If that doesn’t happen, either something is wrong with the pilot light (why is it going out) or there is insufficient or lack of spark from the igniter.
What wasn’t working? The oven? The cooktop? You mentioned stove and then range. Stove implies cooktop, range can mean either the cooktop or the oven.
Yet another stupid commercial: the GMC commercial where he gives her a dog and she gives him a vehicle.
OK, you can get that he might have brought the dog along, let it run around in the woods for a
while, then he whistles and the dog comes running to them. I can be talked into buying that.

People adding “ize” to the end of a noun to turn it into a verb. I just saw the word “professionalize” and I’ve seen a couple of manager types in my office do this too. ![]()
Actuarialize?
“Adulting” or “ask” as a noun…ick.
the cooktop wasn’t working.
idk, my mother’s cooktop did this a lot and she would get it to work. i’m cool with waiting until it actually dies for good to get a new one. what even is an inopportune moment? during a pandemic? we’re already here. i’ll wait.
i also can’t just get any one from home depot. it has to be a certain small size. my freezer has been testy too with ice cream and is on the outs. putting that off too.
I think if anything else craps out you’re legally allowed to just burn the whole place to the ground. Check your contract.
Right, actuarialize - makes no sense at all.
Talking about the actuarials on something, though, … that’s totally acceptable.
First usage: 1856
Like when you are having company over and you’re cooking.
Or, mid-meal when you are cooking for yourself…
That’s what cereal is for.
I don’t know about you, but I cook my cereal.
Actuarial is an adjective. Plus it’s totez adorbz when I do it!!
ETA: Dammit, Dan!!! ![]()
I want to karatecize people who do that
Well, don’t I need to professionalize myself up!!! ![]()
