Yeah, my experience is the same. And while I find it slightly annoying, I can’t really blame them for trying to complete the sale. Much less annoying than some other unsolicited email.

Update on Costco: so after going through and finding everything again and re-adding it to my empty cart my total was $81 and change.
Go to check out and my total is $162… the quantity of every item is now 2.
So apparently they were saved somewhere inaccessible in the ether and they reappeared once I went to check out. I wonder if I’d just randomly added any item to the cart (toothpaste, a sofa… something) if the stuff would have appeared and then I could have deleted the random item and been left with the stuff I wanted.
It wasn’t in the cart until I went to pay though. Before I clicked “check out” it was 3 items for $81. After I clicked “check out” it was 6 items for $162. And you can no longer edit the cart from the check out screen you have to go back to the cart.
Whatever the issue is, it’s as MH said: amazingly dumb.

I freaking hate contractors. Our fence guy was terrible but we did finally manage a fence I like (neighbor didn’t pay for half!), all of the drywall crews seem to screw things up (been through three). My carpenter is just interesting, he’s about 65 and works on his own schedule. He was here for a few hours Mon/Tues, was supposed to be here yesterday but didn’t make it. I tolerate it because finish carpenters are scarce here and his work is impeccable, but it’s annoying that he just sort of comes and goes.
Currently replacing our basement stairs, so it’s not urgent or anything. Just annoying.

Maybe it’s some sort of inventory tracking mechanism. If something is in someone’s cart, it won’t be available for someone else to purchase.
Awake from about 2:45-4:45am. Not woken up by kid, spouse, or dog. Not obsessing about anything, just awake. It was too early to get up tho. Now I’m grumpy and unmotivated.

Nope. It’s Costco’s job to make their check-out process as idiot-proof as possible. Unless twig’s computer crashed in the middle, leaving some bits in the wrong place or something, I put 100% of the blame on Costco.

It’s weird how that is a true statement.
As a side note: I finally found a dermatologist that knew how to treat my scalp-psoriasis. It used to wake me up at night because it was so itchy. Now, it’s gonzo.

Suggests that they had a window open with the cart, opened another window, added a bunch of stuff to their cart, and then went back to the cart window - and it’s not updated.
I dunno if that’s what twig did, just saying, that’s an easy way to get the same results. And that’s user error.
