Yeah, that’s incredibly rude. Not the staying at her boyfriend’s part… the changing plans without clueing anyone in and making everyone worry part.
We should share a pack of Skittles some day. Lemon, lime, and orange are my favorites. Probably in that order.
Hah…I think this may be the epitome of a Lucy response!
Congrats, neighbor - you found a couple of extra fireworks to set off so you can wake up the sleeping dog… well done! ![]()
Let sleeping dogs lie!
Two annoyed thoughts I’d like to share with the community today.

My printer loses it’s state after a few minutes. After that time if I print, the lights flash, but no output. So every time I want to print (which is rarely) I have to unplug the printer to reset it, then print. For how little I print it’s not worth diagnosing. It’s likely something complicated, like the USB port losing state or something.

I’ve left my major project for the course I’m taking to the last minute. Now I have two days to finish. It’s going OK, but heavy time pressure. If I have an emergency, I’m gonna have a problem. I know better. WTF.
If you wait until the last minute, then it only takes a minute!
My French onion soup from Panera that I got as part of a team lunch (so I have no recourse) has no cheese. The cheese is what makes the soup, and a non-trivial portion of the nourishment in the soup.
I may have to replace my passport sooner than expected: the ID page has a wrinkle in it that makes it difficult to scan at the border. ![]()
I do some of my best work at the last minute!! ![]()
I woke up at 5:00 a.m. with a headache. Took an Advil and went back to sleep.
And it will only take a minute to find out that it takes more than a minute.
I bought a new pair of sneakers on Monday, spent $110 which is way more than usual. Leaving the house today, the corner of the storm door took a bite out of the heel. I think I can glue it and it’ll look 90% ok but this pisses me off.
I wonder if there’s anyone on this forum who has too many sneakers?
Ran into some casual overt racism recently. Buddy just threw it out there mid conversation and let it hang. It was a private setting so I just let it slide. Worse, it was in response to my mentioning some friends.
I wasn’t going to get into it, it would only cause conflict without resolution. But it brought to the forefront my feelings that I need to start being more overt on the anti LGBTQ sentiment that’s getting popular. And I don’t want to be like that, again because I would prefer to stay away from conflict. This stuff doesn’t really impact me personally, but it’s getting heavy for others. And at some point this lack of shame in promoting the anti agenda, if left unchecked, will impact me personally.
Can these people just piss off and slink back into their hole so I don’t have to feel like action is required on my part.
I was using Olay Regenerist for an extended period of time when I started getting red rimmed, dry eyes and I couldn’t pinpoint anything that had changed recently. Stopped using the crap and my face healed.
Using any new creams lately that didn’t seem to be melting your face originally but actually are over time?
Our goddaughter’s mother just disowned her because college turned her bi. So the obvious response is to cut her off entirely, right?
Anyway, she’s living with us for a few weeks at least. She’s 19, so under no obligation to stay with parents. However, she was living with them for the summer and parents were previously paying for college, so now it’s a scramble to see if she can get a loan in time as an independent.
Imagine just throwing away your relationship with your 19-year-old child because she also likes women. Hell, she could be monogamous with a man for life, for all they know.
Weirdly, after telling her she wasn’t welcome at their home and college wouldn’t be paid for, the mother is now angry at goddaughter because she’s not going on their family vacation. (She uses vacations to take lots of children pictures to show she’s happy, because her children are props in her life.)
Upside is we might have a quasi-daughter, as she might just live with us for the next semester at least.
I’m considering just paying for her college. I’m waiting to see how things shake out, as this all developed over the last day and a half. It might be worth it just for the giant middle finger to her parents.
(Same woman recently fat-shamed her other daughter, who plays 3 sports and is fit as hell. She’s just built, she’s entirely healthy weight.)
Hmm…I haven’t significantly changed my routine, but I have started getting more serious about using eye creams (cerave). Nothing with ingredients known to make eyes dry like Retinoids or anything like that, and I’ve used them in the past without issue, but maybe my old ass skin just can’t hang anymore.
but maybe my old ass skin
Found the problem, you need to put it on your face.
Obligatory:
because college turned her bi
No, I don’t think it did lol.
(I know that’s not what you meant, it just read kinda funny)
