Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

Mmmmhm, my doctor says that looking down (at phone, keyboard, sewing machine, knitting) has almost certainly contributed to my spine issues. I have been trying to remember to bring my phone up to eye level, but old habits and all - plus, it looks like I’m taking photos of randoms when I do it in public.

I feel like this sprained ankle is gonna hurt forever. It’s pretty strong and stable, it just hurts more than I feel like it should after 11 weeks.

Gonna try mixing in some stationery bike with the walking. I have to get in some regular cardio or my bp will get sky high again!

  1. I had my car keys in my back pocket. When I sat down, the emergency honking activated. :man_facepalming:

  2. I put on my running shoes to shovel the driveway this morning. Of course, the socks got all wet and cold. :man_facepalming:

I opened a 2 pack of Starburst and they were both orange. Next 2 pack had one orange and one strawberry.

Selfburn: I read this and initially thought “why’d he list one by the color and one by the flavor?”.

because everyone in the starburst universe knows strawberries are pink

Doctor’s offices should really do a better job of soundproofing their walls. Over the years I’ve learned way too much about my fellow patients.

Maybe they’re hired actors to subtly dissuade you from your extravagant lifestyle and its consequences.

It was a million to one shot, doc…a million to one.

a couple of weeks ago we had a power failure. then when the power came back on, the over-the-oven hood didn’t come back on. it had a little red square flashy light that indicated a problem. i don’t know how to get the light back on or the exhaust fans to come back on, but I did manage to get the red flashy light to turn off.

what do i do with this?

It’s possible it was damaged by a power surge.

Task failed successfully.

Agree w Lucy, could be toast. Also possible it tripped a breaker, so I’d spend five minutes investigating. It’s also possible that the hood has an internal fuse that has blown. The owner’s manual might be useful in finding said fuse, and if you don’t have the manual, google might.

I checked the breaker after it happened, and nothing had been tripped. I reset it anyway, didn’t help. I don’t have a manual, so I may have to resort to Google. Possibility of damage is high, as I’ve had other electronic devices damaged after a surge before.

people that review stuff online without having received it, used it, or needed it.

No, I DON"T want to have a meeting.

Just answer the question!

Or better yet, send me your file!

I think I’ve mentioned it before, a former manager scolded me once for not doing enough of my ‘real work,’ aka things that aren’t meetings. I looked back at my calendar for the prior two weeks and I had 72 hours of meetings, so I told her I could work, or I could be in all of these meetings, but I can’t do both.

And she suggested I develop content and host a 3-ish hour workshop on how to have fewer meetings. FML.

Yadda yadda yadda, I don’t work there anymore.
