Who in their right mind would do such a thing? Even if you were a fan of raisins in things, cheesecake shouldn’t be one of them.

That also sounds awful.
My father just keeps two completely separate pairs of glasses rather than wear bifocals. Maybe I should go that route.
I just carry readers with me all the time. Distance vision is still great after LASIK ~20 years ago.
LASIK lasted me about 10 years but I’m back to distance glasses.
I do the same.
Until I got the premium progressives, I kept 3 pairs of glasses around.
Then I got this one fabulously expensive pair of glasses, and put all the rest in a drawer somewhere.
they said adding anti reflective coating would take 2 WEEKS! i can’t be without glasses for 2 weeks and i’m also scheduled to go home that day. so i said forget it. there is a vision works on staten island. none in manhattan. might get a 2nd pair when i get home and then go on over to staten island to upgrade these.
not sure how anyone deals with glasses without anti-reflective coating. back in the day when places advertised glasses in an hour was that before things like anti-reflective coating existed? cause you can still get glasses in an hour, but can’t get anything on it like that.
my mother simply takes her glasses off to read, same as me, so i’m thinking i’ll never need bifocals.
I’ve been doing that but when the optometrist had me hold some small print up close he had me compare no lenses to his Rx and his Rx is definitely noticeably better. ![]()
reading glasses would likely be better. my right eye definitely needs them. my left eye not so much. i read out of my left eye. but it’s not bad enough that i’d get reading glasses and progressives are entirely useless as i couldn’t figure out how to even look in the right spot to read out of them, so i’d take them off to read.
for distance, it’s the reverse. my left eye is blind and my right eye not as bad. i have very different eyes from each other.
Yeah maybe I should just buy the Rx for distance and then buy some cheap readers if I want to avoid bifocals. I’ve never really tried readers. I should look at the Rx for the glasses and see if I can decipher the close-up prescription and translate that into the best option for readers.
I do have astigmatism though, so the readers probably aren’t as good an option for me as for folks who don’t have that problem. I think it’s pretty mild though.
why not just ask the person who is giving you a prescription what it would be for readers?
i have a mild astigmatism.
not having anti reflective coating is torture for a person who is somewhat ADD. i might rather just be blind.
i never really knew what anti reflective coating did cause i always just got it. well, now that i don’t have it, i know AND IT’S VERY NECESSARY.
Irritated with my spouse.
The wind really picked up today and knocked over my neighbour’s recycling bins!! I picked up all I could and set the bins upright.
