Not sure how the devices work, but many theaters do offer closed captioning on request. You should ask.
Yeah, i keep multiple sets of glasses in my vehicle for exactly this reason. But i.use zenni which is cheap so ill buy two pairs plus a pair of sunglasses.
Next prescription might be a good idea to.get a 50 dollar pair at zenni as well, just to have on hand.
But what do i know. I had three calculators when i wrote exams.
Been to Broadway theater, but not movies
Made it to the local theater to see a play last week. First time in years. About 25% asked including us.
smart, but the prescription i have right now doesn’t tell me that distance between my eyes thing to order online. i got that at one point, but lost where i put it.
i had my ophthalmologist email me a copy of my prescription to run to a glasses place here, but based on the last time i got glasses it took 10 days! being vision challenged for 10 days will be terrible. i can however see okay looking at a computer. i take my glasses off most of the time i’m working anyway. my left eye is blind to the computer, but my right eye is fine. i have one left contact to make my sight perfect for computer reading that i noticed when i got this one contact for perfection with piano playing, but i don’t bother with that. the one contact wouldn’t be enough for distance though, so i’m going to be vision challenged until i can do something about this.
i have prescription sunglasses on me that i just got right before i left for this trip, but that’s probably not great for not being in the sun.
I just ask the optometrist for the pd measurement and they give it to me. They all know we are orderi g cheap glasses online.
You can measure it yourself, but I’m not a fan. Zenni actually sends you a little tool to measure it yourself.
when i go to try and rectify the situation in the city i’m in now i’ll probably need to buy new glasses. i’ll ask them to give me that number when they have to measure it.
yeah, measuring it yourself sounds very prone to errors.
does anyone have a good suggestion for removing super glue from glasses?
i read on the internets that nail polish remover might work. i need to get that.
i was a dumbass trying super glue. made the situation worse. otherwise i could just tape them together as a temporary fix.
Nail polish remover, and it’s main ingredient acetone, will remove super glue. I have used it, but not on eyeglasses so I googled. This article notes it can damage plastics and some lens coatings:

USPS doesn’t ship wine at all, and I’m pretty sure both FedEx and UPS only do so for licensed merchants.
Any chance you have a backup pair at home someone could grab for you and mail to you? If not, yeah, you’ll probably have to wait a couple weeks to get a new pair no matter where you go, which sucks.
I’ve worn my sunglasses inside before, when I left my regular glasses at home. Kind of annoying, but necessary for me. It was pretty much fine vision-wise, though.
glasses ordered. they said they would be ready in 45 minutes! then like 5 minutes later they texted me that they were ready, but we are gonna go there later today to pick them up. yay for glasses places in the po! at home it took 10 days.
i got children’s frames. the chick there thought that my current frames were children’s frames. they aren’t, but apparently they are as small as children’s frames. these were really similar, but way cheaper than my fancy glasses. i just hope they aren’t too tight on my head. i wasn’t sure. the adult frames are not too tight on my head.
they are $161.97 total. i got no fancy add-ons as those would mean that i can’t get them in 45 minutes. so i’ll probably buy new glasses when i get home with the anti-reflective stuff and max thin frames and whatever other fancy stuff they give you.
My wife buys children’s glasses, she has a really small head and it seems no adult frames fit her very well.

just the frames themselves for my current now deceased frames are listed online for $405. The frames for these which are extremely similar were $69.95 with 40% off, so only $42. What makes the fancy ones worth 10 times that for just the frame? probably nothing.
