I have an ocular migraine and can’t see anything I look directly at.
Nope it’s a real migraine now. Ugh.

My iphone started doing that a couple of years ago, so I bought a couple of contact chargers instead. One of them is an upright (with a slight lean like a music stand) charger for the car with which I have to be careful going around corners too fast because otherwise it falls over and the phone ends up in the passenger footwell.
my phone does not have contact charging. low end phone
The need to GAF is higher than the desire. Screwed up something earlier and now have to redo.
My oven’s beep is between a C & C#.
does that mean you can only cook seafood?
Due to today’s screw up, I have to GAF more than originally planned tomorrow.
Maybe you all are smarter than me and way ahead of this. My iPhone charger got wonky, I had to apply a slight bit of pressure to the cable to maintain a connection. So I call my local shop and they tell me to bring it in.
Turns out a big piece of lint fell into the charging port, and they removed it with what was basically a small plastic toothpick.
Annoying that you had to go in for that, but if it fixes the problem that’s a lot better than needing a new phone!
It’s five blocks from my house, and they fixed in five minutes for free. The worst part was the walk of shame out of the store once I realized that was the problem. LOL.
I hear you there. When I got my first iPhone I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on after I accidentally let the battery die. I charged it overnight and still couldn’t get it on and stopped at the Sprint store the next morning saying it wouldn’t turn on. Imagine how dumb I felt when the sales guy immediately turned it on. ![]()
I had to get him to show me how to do it. And I still find it stupidly difficult to turn on, although I’ve never had to go back to the store for that at least.
That’s the same trouble my old Samsung had. Just pocket lint gets crammed in there and keeps the plug from connecting. I used a needle to scrape it out. Sorry I forgot to post it earlier.
and sure enough I used a pin or needle to scrape the heck out of the plug hole. a charger that has not worked in a LONG time suddenly fits and connects.
i will say that the level of force and scraping I was doing with that pin was greater than what I would have imagined as “ok” for an electronic device. but it worked just fine.
Unbelievable! It worked. I think I went two years thinking I had a dodgy connection. Thanks!
Yeah I thought for sure I was going to break it but figured I’d just get it replaced if that happened. They’re tougher than they look.
Asked today if we can just slip in rating variables but not file them. Not variables filed confidentially - just do it and don’t ask permission.
Absolutely no, not even a little. (We are not discussing No File or Use and File or something here.)
I left a job where the higher ups starting asking those questions and didn’t see to understand NO
Haha, they took the advice so don’t start hunting me down to report. Was simultaneously hilarious and terrifying though.
yes. I truly believed one day I would be told to do something improper
I fixed my phone that way a few months ago. It wasn’t charging reliably. I looked inside and didn’t see any lint, but it looked a little corroded. I decided to try scraping off the “corrosion” with a sewing needle, and as i scraped, the packed-down lint opened up and then came out.
It’s been charging fine ever since.
