Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

I was trying to multitask when I posted this. I didn’t mean the “How about” one, I was thinking of something else but now I can’t remember what it was. I concede “how about” is a question.

Now I’m annoyed I can’t think of what the second one was…

Hubby and I are irrationally enraptured by watching Carrie Underwood singing Waiting All Day For Sunday Night each week… to the point that we will record it and watch the song and then not watch the game in some cases.

I absolutely loved bringing back Joan Jett last year… that was awesome. (We don’t even talk about those horrible years when they switched to some other song.)

But this year something insidious has crept in. Instead of naming the two teams that are playing, some weeks she sings the names of the two starting quarterbacks. I don’t recall her doing this in the past. It’s not every week, but it did happen last week and that wasn’t the first time.

Boo!!! The QB is the most important player on the team, but he is one player on a team of 53. The QB is not bigger than the team.

Yes, I am irrationally over-invested in a silly song, I realize this. I’m already annoyed that maybe she’s going to do it again tonight, but since Russell Wilson won’t be playing :sob: maybe she won’t. I realize it’s already recorded and this decision has already been made. I will be especially annoyed if she says the name of a player who isn’t even playing.

Well? How did it turn out?

“Hawks and the Steelers” :+1:

I was actually just coming to post an update. We just watched it a few seconds ago.

i’m staying at my parents place for a few weeks. placed 2 orders, one from amazon and the other from sephora. BOTH were delivered to the wrong address. I eventually got the sephora order. i guess whomever got it dropped it off. just got notification that the amazon item was delivered, opened the door to NOTHING. i went on the delivery people’s website, which they post a picture of the front porch they delivered it to. NOT my parents front porch, and in fact, not the front porch of anyone on the block. wtf?

this never happened at my manhattan address and i’m 2 for 2 for them fucking up the address at my parents place.

I received an order this weekend for someone with my house number but wrong street…along with a package I did order.

Part of me thinks delivery guy did it on purpose to not have to deliver the second package.

was the actual address anywhere near yours? did you get it to them?

yeah, you are possibly right.

One block away. Yes, I did. [red]only after discerning that I didn’t want the content s of the musdelivered box[/read]

yeah, i’d imagine most normal people would just give the item to their rightful owner assuming it’s not like miles away, but people in my parents neighborhood are kinda trashy, so we’ll see.

This probably better belongs in the “things that bother me more than they should” thread.

Song titles get put in quotation marks. Longer works, like movies, or album titles get italicized or underlined. The shorter stuff, like songs, or tv episodes get quotes.

13 was trying to figure out what I do for work again and has a real hard time distinguishing between mine, his dad’s, and his future stepdad’s jobs (So they’re all in finance? Sort of, but not exactly kid).

We talked about it for a bit, I told him about the exams and as per the usual bad assumption he goes “So, just like an accountant?” Well no kid, there’s more exams in actuarial and we don’t do blah blah blah. This goes on for a while, and some how at the end of it all he still confidently declares “Ohhh, so you’re like the junior accountant”.

Look kid, I know someone you love is very proud to be dating a CFO right now, but that’s doesn’t make the rest of us junior accountants.

Not a good time for the Can’t Pass Actuarial definition I guess.

Have a house guest while my mother is on vacation. House guest asked if I have an extra mouse. I’m like, no, but you can order one from Amazon to be delivered within ONE DAY to some mystery, not my parents address, but likely on the same borough.

Or you can drive to the store and get one right away. No guessing it if will be delivered on time or to the right place.

don’t have access to a car, unless my mother is cool with us using her car, which i haven’t asked.

You don’t have extra mice knocking around? I’m now using a nice cordless mouse, but I have a couple of perfectly functional corded mice in a drawer, along with a cordless mouse my employer bought for me that doesn’t fit my hand very well. I bet my husband has some spare mice, too.

i think aof is shacking up at her mom’s with a paramour. might make sense there no extra mouse, or one couldn’t be found.

Not fully annoyed anymore but annoyed at American healthcare.

Found that the fourth party healthcare provider (me/insurance/in-home nursing/patient assistance program) which pays for most of my stupidly expensive drugs actually counts as going toward my OOP max, so I’m switching to a high-deducible plan. We will just forgo any other healthcare if possible for the first few months out of the year, then my partner and I can get basically free healthcare.

Until the rug gets pulled from under me again, they stop the assistance program, I have to go to a new drug, get sick again, repeat the whole cycle. In the meantime we’ll throw as much into an HSA as possible in case I need to start paying $80,000/yr for my medicine.

You should check with your benefits provider to ensure this will be the case next year. As of July this year, there are only 11 states plus PR that have legislation prohibiting copay accumulator adjustment programs (CAAP). These programs reverse the impact of manufacturer assistance towards deductibles and OOP maxes, making people’s expenses higher. CMS allows the use of CAAP, and your plan may not use it this year, but unless you are in one of the 11 states, they could next year.

I’m going to gain weight this week instead of lose it, because I have no self-control. There are two new (sandwich style) loaves of sourdough on the stove from today. I’ve already eaten 4 slices.

I’ve also eaten more than half of the sourdough round now.
