Annoyed Thoughts: archive 1

My cat woke me up earlier than I wanted by jumping on me. She doesn’t typically do that.

So the office has re-instituted a “mask while not at desk” policy and of course mean girl thinks it doesn’t apply to her. :woman_facepalming:

I’m cautiously optimistic that she might have gotten vaccinated though because at one point the policy was to mask while not as your desk if you were unvaccinated. And the owner asked us our vaccination status, and for several weeks she was the only one wearing a mask. Then she stopped wearing a mask while that was still officially the policy. Then the signs came down… possibly due to being a moot point if 100% of us were vaccinated… not sure.

But now we’re supposed to be masking when not at our desks regardless of vaccination status and she’s not.

I’m so glad I have a private office!

I’m also glad that I work in a department of three where we’re all vaxxed up.

Yeah, I would like to know if we’re all vaxxed up or not. I know for sure everyone other than mean girl is, and I’d really like to know if she is.

She certainly engages in the riskiest behavior of any of us (bars, concerts, etc), so she’s certainly most likely to get it… especially if she’s not vaccinated.

But I don’t want to know badly enough to actually ask her. She’d probably take my question as an affront no matter how I asked her and I have the social skills of an actuary so I’d probably not ask in the best way either and make it even worse.

But I’m pretty sure there’s no way to ask the question without offending her regardless, so I’m not going to attempt it.

Continuing on the theme of “I hate counting probability problems”, I calced ProbA=.6, ProbB=.6, and Prob A intersection B=.0025. So naturally PA union B= .6+.6-.0025=1.1975.

Even I know there’s something fishy with that answer.

That bottle of apple cider vinegar I bought and was mad that the store only had a bigger bottle than what I wanted? Turns out it looks like I’m going to use the whole damn thing. Effing fruit flies!

What’s with the drivers that don’t stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk but wave at you as they blow by you? It’s like their communicating “sorry I know I’m breaking the law but I can’t be bothered to stop for you”. They get the finger from me for that.

When your partner hits the snooze button several times which wakes you up way earlier than you need to be up, and you can’t fall back asleep.

I do that sometimes, but it’s usually that I saw them too late.

This…it’s the sorry-I-wasn’t-able-to-stop-for-you-in-time-I-hope-you-still-have-a-nice-day-wave.

The guy in front of me last week that made an illegal three-point U-turn on my city’s main street gave me the wave as he went past. If my son wasn’t in the back seat I’d have given him the finger.

More password changing for yet another software package!!! :man_facepalming:

And my first attempt didn’t have a beepin’ lower case letter!!! Beepity beep beep!!! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Sorry my ID is all caps and too short.

Update as we are now into day 3 of Mask Mandate 2.0:

My client rents office space in a building with multiple tenants. So part of the building is leased by my client.

The restrooms, however, are in a portion of the building that is shared with other tenants.

The mask rule simply says to wear a mask when we are not at our desks.

Mean girl appears to be wearing her mask probably 80% of the time when she goes to the printer or the microwave… areas in the client-specific part of the building.

Then she takes her mask off when she enters the common-to-multiple-tenants portion of the building where the restrooms are located.

The times I’ve seen her maskless when not at her desk have been either in the ladies room, or when arriving at the beginning of the day or departing at the end.

I’m not sure if client has the authority to require masks in the restrooms, although everyone else is wearing them.

I can’t imagine there’s an exemption for arriving/departing though. :woman_facepalming: That part is in the portion of the building that is specifically leased by the client (her employer).

What a pita…and not the family of yeast-leavened round flatbreads baked from wheat flour, common in the Mediterranean, Middle East, and neighboring areas.

Yeah, and I really can’t complain to the client about one of their employees… which is why I vent to you good people!

Thanks for letting me complain!

Have the other tenants seen problem child without her mask??

Well at the risk of really outing myself… none of the other tenants seem to be using the restrooms.

Part of the building is vacant and another tenant has added restrooms in their portion of the building so they don’t have to mix with us riff-raff.

Other tenants have other restrooms that are closer so there would be no point for them to walk to these.

So basically it is only us actually using the restrooms even though other portions of the building have access to them.
