US Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra said Thursday in Halifax he is disappointed that he’s found so few Canadians that are willing to speak positively about the United States. Duh.
Maybe if his government could quit shitting on Canada for a bit he’d get somewhere.

I was cynical about Hoekstra’s appointment by Trump. It was as if Trump said “find me the least competent person you can to show the Canadians that I don’t care about our relationship”. Given Hoekstra’s history he was a prime choice.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called for the firing and investigation of those responsible for a stalled escalator that carried President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump at Tuesday’s United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The UN only turns on the escalators for dues-paying members.

Regardless of the cause, it’s not unusual for escalators at the UN to stop working, as staff and visitors know quite well.
In recent months, U.N. offices in New York and Geneva have intermittently turned off elevators and escalators as part of steps to save money because of a “liquidity crisis” at the world body.
That’s due in part to delays in funding from the United States, which is the top donor of the world body.

Is “reservations” something like “ethics” and “moral compass” or is it setting expectations to avoid the embarrassment of a case they assume they would lose?
Given the lack of ethics of this administration, I assume they are afraid they would lose.
And by lose, you mean fail to get an indictment, right? I mean, I read something that Trump said that they should be prosecuted and let the court decide whether they are guilty or not. So it sounds like maybe even he is coming around to the idea they might not be guilty. He just wants them prosecuted like he was. But the ‘reservations’ are probably that with the information they have, they can’t even get the indictment.
