When asked at a Senate hearing Tuesday by Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) to define habeas corpus — the right of due process to challenge a person’s detention by the government — Noem described the term as “a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country.”
“So, I get a phone call and it’s about Social Security. And I’m really, I’m really not, I swear I’m not looking for a job,” Bisignano said, according to an audio recording of the meeting obtained by ABC News. “And I’m like, ‘Well, what am I going to do?’ So, I’m Googling Social Security. You know, one of my great skills, I’m one of the great Googlers on the East Coast.”
“I’m like, ‘What the heck’s the commissioner of Social Security?’” said Bisignano, who now oversees one of the largest federal agencies that’s responsible for distributing retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to more than 70 million Americans.
I don’t know. Given everything else going on, I’d think illegal wiretaps would be considered something they’d be all for. Why get rid of him for something they’d want?
But it sounds like the illegal wiretaps didn’t happen, and rather team Hegseth told the WH that they had done illegal wiretaps even when they hadn’t. Were they trying to make themselves look cooler? It is so bizarre.
Hegseths personal lawyer lied to concoct a reason to get his aides fired.
He tried to pull a fast one basically. A really stupid one because that crazy reason would eventually get out.
And now the blowback has arrived and its going to make Trump look bad. Again.
I don’t see Hegseth lasting after this one because its not the media driving this. Its actually Hesgeths own lawyer and his incompetence driving this one.
I’m waffling on whether to guess he’s going to name them all for Confederate military or if they’ll be named Donald J. Trump 1, Donald J. Trump 2, Donald J. Trump 3, …
