All the President's Men

The thing is, for the flu and apparently now the COVID vaccines, there is an annual process to work through the variants to be innoculated against and to approve the new vaccines.

It’s very easy for me to imagine that an anti-vax official would effectively nuke that process.

I now work in investments. We have been exploring such things seriously including the potential of higher returns on govt bonds as sovereign risk increases.

Looks like it’s ND Governor Burgum for Interior.

I’m not familiar with him. What’s completely f’ed up about him?

AFAIK he’s mainly just boring af

They are bypassing FBI background checks for Gaetz and Gabbard.

White Republican Business Man. Ran on the boring white guy platform as alternative to Trump and dropped out of the race kind of early. Self financed his campaign that went nowhere. Seems like one of Trumps saner picks.

Good gosh, there’s no surprise at all there. Neither would have a chance at all to pass a check, pre-Jan.

Yeah, not taking any away doesn’t mean they will be as emphasized in the future. Or like you said, the approval of the annual updates as easily approved.

I could also imagine that many of the current rules and/or recommendations for vaccines could be adjusted or deleted all together.

bergum is a central casting pick across any admin i figure. has someone done the comparison of the 2016 nominees and their credentials vs this crew? in 2016 he might have hired the best people. they eventually turned on him and/or got fired. now we have the current crew

Well, that’s an improvement for Trump picks!

So in other words, the Parable of the Wedding Feast (Matthew 22:1-14) is really about Trump.

Yep. I had a stack of Burgum mailers because I live in Iowa. Made money on a software company …

After graduating from North Dakota State University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in university studies and earning an MBA from Stanford University two years later[5], he mortgaged inherited farmland in 1983 to invest in Great Plains Software in Fargo. Becoming its president in 1984, he took the company public in 1997. Burgum sold the company to Microsoft for $1.1 billion in 2001.

Fun story. Software billionaire from North Dakota. And, degree in “University Studies” ??

Johnson has said that the Gaetz ethics report should not be released. Wonder what the odds are of it leaking.

the odds of a deep state smear campaign? 1000%

Good news: the state will be a lot shallower!

I realize there’s still 6.5 hours to go, but he hasn’t announced Dr. Oz for surgeon general. So, America has that going for it.

He had enough credits and required courses to graduate but not enough in any particular area to have a major.
