All Eyes on Georgia

Oh if you’re just talking about national level polling then I don’t think your statement had much merit at all? National polling didn’t come out biased?

other way around. Im pointing to state polling being mostly worthless.

national was at least in the right direction. Like predicted biden +7% actual was like +4%

tell ya what, if Dems get >= the polling average today, Ill eat my lucky hat.

I’m expecting both races to go red today but hoping enough Trumpkins are pissed off enough to stay home to give it chance to go blue.

Oh yes I do see national was off by about 3 points, that’s not great, my mistake.

So the polling said Democrats would roll to huge wins, but they lost a lot of races and barely won the Presidency. That’s what gets me. Trumpkins cite all these hairbrained statistics they make up but IMO polling represents the expected value of the election result. If the only thing you knew was pre election polling and you saw the results and were asked who was most likely to have cheated anyone would answer that Trump was most likely to have cheated. He way overperformed expectations.

Well, yeah - he won in a landslide. Believe me.

Definitely! There is no bigger number than 74,223,744. None biglier.

I hope you are right, but worried this becomes mainstream, because it only took 2 months of crying about elections to make it politically smart to join the cause.

The GA GOP has denied press credentials to Georgia Public Broadcasting for tonight’s election watch party for the 2 GOP senators. I guess if you want GOP coverage tune in to InfoWars, NewsMax, or OANN.

When do polls close?

7 PM. Don’t know if that is hard close of no one allowed on line after that.

Yes, except a few areas were required to stay open later, per multiple news alerts. With 8% reporting, the NYT has given a small lead to each democrat.

Looks like dem sweep or split 1-1 most likely two outcomes right now. Would not have expected that. So early though

the dems are looking good. they are beating the numbers from november and it looks like some republican counties are having lower turnout than they need so far. i’m not gonna get my hopes up though. :grimacing: it’s a nail biter.

yeah, still too early for me to take the results very seriously. But better to see predictions favoring the D than vice versa.

NYT currently giving Warnock a 63% chance of winning, and Ossoff 58%.

If the D’s win, I think they can thank Trump. He was busy distracting Republican voters and making a stink about his election, while the local Democrats were busy going door to door trying to get newly registered voters to the polls.

One of my favorite NYT columnists, Ross Douthat, writes a column saying that if both dems win then Trump would definitely take the blame and he’s likely to lose his strong grip on the party.

Opinion | Why I Hope the Republicans Lose in Georgia - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Trump does not seem like one to take blame, even when clearly deserved

I read that more as “everyone will blame it on him” than “he will accept the blame”. He will obviously never do the latter.

That’s what I meant, sorry a bit tired tonight

not looking so great anymore :grimacing:
