Advice needed. Best Halloween candy

OddSox took the bag of chocolate bars away from me in my office today. The marriage was nice while it lasted.

Yep.

Twix, Reese’s Pieces if I can find them or Reese’s cups if I can’t, and Nerds, which are safe for nut allergies.

I just bought 10 more bags of candy. We better get a lot of trick or treaters.

I bought 6 bags. Two for me, four for the kids.

I was warned that sometimes kids will bring home about as much as you give out but I don’t think that’ll be our case.

At our kids’ age, that is becoming the case. We actually hit a point two years ago where our kids were young enough that they still wanted us to come with them, and their stamina was pretty good, so by the time we got home and started handing out candy, most of the trick or treating was over. So we had most of our original candy PLUS all the candy they collected.

Yeah, but they can be stingy with sharing. And they want to keep all of the good stuff for themselves.

Interesting observation.

I am generally able to maintain self control around Halloween candy as long as its before Halloween and especially if the larger package remains unopened.

My wife does have some candy and cookies hidden around the house that I know I dont have self control with though

The key is keeping it out of sight and unopened. Self restraint will be out the window come Halloween.

I’ve kept it in the trunk of the car in past years to avoid eating it, but you have to keep an eye on the weather forecasts for hot days. It’s usually safe to store it there in Chicago this time of year.

All the stores have their 30/50/100 packs of chocolate bars right at the entrance!!! So tempting!!!

The sooner you hit 400, the more this will be a problem. But having too much candy is such a first-world problem.

Wut?

I’m not sure if even @NormalDan will beat you.

You never know., that could change. What day of the week is date night in the Normal household?

Of course if we are counting trick-or-treaters you and I may be tied.

And now the stores are putting out the little bags of potato chips!!!

Just bought one of these!!!

As a kid I always wished more houses gave out Smarties. Those are my favorite Halloween candy.

We just put the big bag in the closet after buying it. If it gets opened, it is easy to snack on it. But if it is not opened and in the closet, then I can keep it closed until Halloween.

Butterfingers and Skittles. Let the kiddies pick. Stash a few king size snacks for the kids on your street

I was going to get smarties. But the place I was shopping wanted to charge a lot more if I didn’t give them a “frequent customer” card, and I didn’t want to deal. So I went someplace else that had prices nearly as good as the “discount” price without jumping through hoops (and much cheaper than the hoop-free price.) They had all the same stuff I had planned to buy, except smarties.
