Advice needed. Best Halloween candy

we had fewer than 25 kids. a record low as far as I can tell. my block is off the beaten path, but still. we had GREAT weather for MN in the fall. so it must be the monday. i left at 820pm (local) to head to a friend’sfirepit for drinks. left the bowls outside unattended with instructions to take 2, 3 or 4. or whatever. 95% of it still remains.

We had a decent amount of kids, especially for the weather - foggy and feeling like it might rain (but never did). The costumes this year were exceptional - most people clearly put in an effort, which isn’t typically the case. One unopened bag of Reeses remain, and there are about 3 or 4 KitKats left, which I"m about to scarf. The backup Smarties remain unopened.

Did you post this on reddit? I saw a post that said exactly this.

Lol, i did not.

0 again. But we live on a very busy road, people usually are going about 50 mph. Also, only a few houses near us with no kids.

I had 120 full-sized chocolate bars/Skittles and a bag of fun-sized Snickers (there was an… incident… with the bag of fun-sized Milky Ways) and we were cleared out by a little after 7 PM. My street still does tables at the end of the driveway (and this seemed slower than last year).

Probably 100-150 or so kids. Back to 2019 levels after a very slow two years.

We had about 8 kinds in 3 groups. Sadly, that’s about par.

Bought 60 - gave out about 25 or so. No one showed up to take advantage of

had one group twice. They didn’t double dip, I got them first and wife came home as they passed again and invited them up

Had around 80, much less than last year that was around 150.

I didn’t count kids but went through about 15 bags of candy.

We had about 20-25 kids. Weather did not cooperate.

We had about 70 kids. I tried to keep an accurate count, but they came in big groups later, so I lost track. But we bought 60 full-sized and had 4 left, but we had fun-sized for the real little kids, so 70’s about right. But one girl so sweetly asked “Can I have a big candy, please?” which of course I said yes. Word must have gotten around that we had full-sized.

So this is how my son dressed to hand out candy…Ring Pops. Unfortunately he didn’t get any traffic by 7:30 in his new development, maybe because the row across from him is still under construction

We got about 10-12 kids who came in 4 groups.

okay, that’s creepy.

Awesome costume (and candy tie in). I can see why it scared some kids.

We gave away king size candies. Kids’ reaction was totally worth it. Maybe 20 kids total. Sadly, the new next-door neighbors took their kids somewhere else for trick-or-treat. We have a flat yard, easy access to front door, but are on a cul-de-sac over a hill that most don’t climb. Ours used to be a destination subdivision, but there are newer ones that have taken the mantle.

It seems like there wasn’t as big of a selection in Halloween candy this year but we still will provide a diverse selection.

I was in a Canada a few weeks ago. Curious to know if I’d picked up some variety packs from there with candy you can’t get here (like the one Breadmaker displayed at the top of thread), what the reaction of the kids would be (they don’t know what they’re missing). Maybe I’ll try next year.

Kit Kats - the chocolate in the Canadian & UK versions is better than the U.S. variety.
