Huh, Coctco and Target and Walmart and several grocery stores around here usually sell multi-packs of full-size bars around Halloween.
But I didn’t like the mix of Costco bars this year. We did full-size bars last year, purchased from Costco.
This year we bought a 150 pack of fun-size bars that claimed to have 10 different kinds of candy in it. But it lied. There were precisely 0 Kit Kat’s and very few peanut M&Ms. Like maybe 3. I mean I don’t expect precisely 15 of everything, but I was hoping for at least a couple of Kit Kat’s.
I rarely shop at Costco, Target, and WalMart. And I don’t think it’s worth a special trip just to buy Halloween candy. And none of the three supermarkets I go to, nor my regular drug store, carry packs of full sized candy.
Nearly every “list of best Halloween candy” has Reese PBC at or near the top of the list but if you don’t like PB or have a nut allergy they won’t be on yours. But most kids do like PBCs.
junior mints rarely show up on most kids “best candy” list. I personally love junior mints but none of my 3 kinds care for them at all.
Personally I just look for a mixed bag that has something I like and something my daughter likes, this year it was a mix of Twix, Snickers, Skittles, Starbust. We just gave a hand full to each kid. I think we had about 8 groups of kids for a total of about 20 trick or treaters.
i would only buy what I will gladly eat - and i massively overbuy.
I also try not to buy the premade mix of fruity things and chocolates. the flavors bleed in that bag.
it is part of my challenge right now. mrs. f def overbought (good). but the mix bags (bad) and the hit on what i will eat (not close) will leave me…eating a lot of candy I don’t love in the next month.
My daughter’s friend bought her a family size box each of Booberry, Frankenberry & Count Chocula. We’re saving the Count Chocula for when big sis comes home to visit over Thanksgiving.
Left, right, right, left.
There is kind of a depression in the crunchy bit on this right Twix, I’ll see about cutting into another right Twix later. But they appear to be the same candy bar, within manufacturing tolerance.
