I think I did the score right. You get 2 points for each place you visited (minus the cottage) and 5 points for each item picked up.

Did we get 2 points for visiting the drawbridge? I don’t suppose attacking with the rose will do any better, so presumably time to retreat. Or try to get 5 points for picking up the troll; rose might even be a good pick-up tool.

Head East and brandish rose to troll. Say “wow, all those years under that bridge have done you GOOD. I got this beautiful rose for you to smell, though I fear it’s beauty just doesn’t compare to yours” attempt to sneak around while troll is smelling rose

Yeah, I forgot about the rose. You got 2 points for outside the cottage, 2 points for by the tree, 2 points for getting in the tree, and 2 points for the drawbridge (8 for locations), then 15 for items (fishing pole, rose, dead branch). So 23/100. Post edited!

You hold out your rose to the troll. Surely no one could resist such a beautiful symbol of your love! Unfortunately the troll does not share your world views. He promptly eats both you and the rose.

Break out fishing pole, and cast for fish in the moat

You whip out your pole right in front of the troll, not caring who sees. You dip it in the water, maintaining eye contact with the troll the entire time to see if he likes what he sees. Unfortunately it appears he likes it a little too much. The troll jumps on you like a dog who smells peanut butter.

You quickly leave the troll at the drawbridge, walking down the winding path and stand outside your cottage. After pausing for a minute in confusion, you realize that the pond you’re looking for is still South. You walk south and find yourself at the edge of a fish pond. Exits are North.

You whip out your pole and dip it in the water. Without having to wait too long, you feel a tug on the end. You lift it up and see that you’ve caught a fish! You now have a wriggling fish!

Check sky for evidence of a moon

It’s the middle of the day! You can’t see the moon, but the sun sure is bright.

You can see the moon during the daytime! It’s just not as obvious and needs to have risen

Despite knowing that the moon is visible during the day after it’s risen, you still can’t see the moon. Besides, after that nightmare of turning into a werewolf, you don’t want to see the moon right now.
