I don’t think Santa will be bringing any WC 2026 soccer balls to any of my family’s homes!
I checked for games near me and so far I can only purchase hospitality packages and not just single game tickets. For the right price I would buy two sets of tickets, one for resale and one for attending.
Unless you won the early visa lottery to buy tickets, there are only 2 ways to get tickets right now: the FIFA secondary market and outrageously priced hospitality packages. The secondary market prices for my city are also currently outrageous, and the few options available are for only 1 ticket. I’ll wait. You can also still give FIFA lots of money for digital collectibles, some of which include a future “right to buy” ticket.
I entered the early VISA lottery as did several friends and family, and none of us got the chance to buy. The next lottery window is 10/27-31. Good luck to all.
After the field is drawn 12/5, there will be a ticket window purchase option sometime in mid December where you can try to buy specific matches once the draw is set. It isn’t clear if they will still offer “follow my team” or venue options in this stage.
Any tickets left over after the December window will get offered for sale closer to the tournament start on a first come/ first served basis. I’m hoping that the overpriced group stage matches will have leftovers here.
My last hope for a ticket for a Canada match lies with the country allocation tickets. I have a high status in our national soccer association that gives me a higher probability of getting those. Still a long shot.
If I can get relatively cheap tickets here for a match between two unloved countries in the group stage I might just do that to experience a WC match.

There is an increasing probability that this WC will be a disaster.
I have never seen a WC being organised in a country that is so polarised and divided. Even Qatar was nothing like this.
Don’t see many tourists coming to the US given this behavior by Trump.

Trump dissuaded me from visiting the US long ago.
My biggest problem with our Glorious Leader is that he’s the mascot for many aspects of American culture I have issues with.

My wife’s ancestors also lived in the US for a few thousand years but that hasn’t persuaded her to return!
There’s a part of me that resists the idea that “they” would finally win by getting rid of my family.

I made an early recommendation that Decatur might be a cheaper spot for WC than downtown Atlanta. That might still be true, but apparently they are planning a watch party with a free Big Boi concert on the opening night.
