Greatest individual single game playoff performance ever? Pretty amazing not only to do that, but to do it to clinch the AL Championship.
This guy never ceases to amaze me. And he should be around for a long time.
It was so good he clinched the AL championship from the NL!
It it a really amazing performance. Definitely up there for consideration as best playoff performance ever.
He will make the AL Championship irrelevant though
Eh, it was one game. And not like it was a game 7 or anything like that. Series was already over.
Agree they went a little overboard with the praise, but it was a historic performance.
It was a “game 7” for the Brewers!
Pffft… as if the Brewers would even know what a game 7 is!
Your memory is short
Yeah I don’t think he deserved to get the NLCS MVP for it. I mean, he was terrible for the first 3 games. He has one great game, and that warrants MVP? Should have gone to the starting pitchers as a group. They were the real stars of the series.
MVPs awards are strictly for selling more merch
What kind of merch?
Gee…Gosh… I don’t know… If only there was player specific stuff fans could buy… Just imagine the sales!
Dupli
Since his mid-September call-up, Yesavage has started in three post-season games for the Jays and he pitched shutout ball for the first five innings last night, aided by DPs in three consecutive innings. The 2026 season will be anticlimactic for him.
will he still be a rookie?
He will have rookie status in 2026.
for another example of this see: Judge, Aaron - who won Rookie of the Year in his 2nd year
Judge is phenomenal. However a distinguishing feature for Yesavage is he started this year in Low-A ball rather than in a higher minor league. And there is so much pressure on a starting pitcher in an elimination game.
I expect Judge had a few years in the minors before exploding on the scene as Rookie of the Year.
I was just pointing out that Yesavage could still win the ROY next year even after making a scene this year.
