2025 MLB Baseball Thread

Congrats to the Los Angeles Dodgers of Los Angeles.
Victory Parade is on [looks it up…] Friday! Cool. From iconic City Hall to Iconic LA Central Library.

But enough of that, let’s see if ESPN will give us what we REALLY want…
Because of course they did:

Most interesting part of this is the time stamp:

The Odds don’t match up to this:

Those odds can’t be right. It implies the Cubs have a chance.

Awesome. The WS have pulled even with Colorado. Or is it Colorado dropping down? Either way, it’s nice to have company

Maybe ESPN knows who is signing Soto

Check the timestamp of the article announcing it.

Rays should become A’s for a year. That place ain’t being used.

Best option is to just cancel the 2025 season altogether

Maybe use this an excuse to finally move the Rays out of Tampa

Or out of the US entirely (all the cool kids are doing it). I hear Montreal could use a team. Could maybe call them the Expats.

Or Ex-Rays.
Easy Softball, hit it out of the park imo.

Oooo… and then all tickets would be free! Cuz Canada! Where all healthcare is free! :canada:

Well, except that you’d have to wait in line for months to watch a game.
(My Brother-in-law is currently awaiting an MRI for his knee, so, yes, it happens.)

Sure. But what else is there to do in Canada?

The White Sox haven’t moved yet. The Rays can fill in for them until they get there.

Something unheard of might happen in 2025: The Rays will sell out every home game.

Unlikely. 11,000 or so is a lot of Rays fans.

Well, at least the name fits again for a year or so.

New to the HoF ballot
Ichiro Suzuki (1st Ballot)
CC Sabathia (close, not 1st ballot, is he better than Petite?
Félix Hernández (great core years, not enough, Johan Santana, among other was better)
Carlos González (no)
Dustin Pedroia (at one point could have been on that trajectory, but no)
Hanley Ramírez (same comments as Pedroia)
Fernando Rodney (no just for how he wore his hat)
Ian Kinsler (another good IFer who didn’t sustain)
Ben Zobrist (no)
Troy Tulowitzki (another IFer, who looked great and faded)
Russell Martin (solid, but no)
Brian McCann (very solid, but no)
Curtis Granderson (very good ball player, all time good guy, not close to HoF)
Adam Jones.(another short but solid core, no)

I think Ichiro, Wagner and Beltran

I have Utley missing (and above all the new IFers to the ballot)
I know some people love Jones’ power and glove, but a miss for me
Vizquel - is the glove enough? A lot of hits help the argument

and no idea on ARod & Manny, of course the stats are good enough
