2025 Canadian Federal Election

And we should have a winner declared tomorrow night unlike some countries that take longer to count votes.

CTV’s live stream won’t play for me, even going thru a VPN.

No CBC feed?

It’s early but the Atlantic Provinces are trending much more towards the Conservatives than the polls were predicting. Not a good start for the Liberals.

CBC’s playing through the VPN, but (based on extremely limited hotel room TV viewing) I prefer CTV.

9:30pm Eastern (11pm in Newfoundland). It’s showtime.

CBC calls it for a Liberal government…but no verdict yet on whether they will get a majority.

…and CBC does indeed stream to the US.

Really need a majority to deal with Trump.

The leader of the Conservative Party is trailing in this Carleton riding. Would be crazy if he lost.

The New Democratic Party leader has lost his Vancouver-area seat and is stepping down as leader.

Looks like a minority Liberal government which is not a great outcome for dealing with Donald Trump.

Polls proved wrong again. Wonder if better polling might have moved more NDP to vote lib and give a majority…

Poilievre has officially lost his seat.

That was a surprise.

This will be one for the history books - a very likely conservative victory dashed in just a few months by Trump.

What the hell was he thinking, Tweeting right before “Vote for PP, because he will help us annex you!”

If not for everything else about Trump, I’d think he was trying to sabotage the Canadian conservatives.

But not a majority, that makes a really big difference in the Canadian system so is imo unfortunate.

I was seeing that the polls were within their margin of error. I think on the other hand 338 blew things a bit with its model.

I’d been seeing rumblings about that for the last week or so.

I find it unfortunate as well, but I have a saying. Individually Canadian voters are idiots but collectively they are always right.

And it’s looking.like a minority, but with the ndp they have a majority. So, we end up with what can be a majority govt when really necessary, after a second opinion from the ndp. Maybe that’s better than a straight majority.
