Hopefully he figures out what it means soon as he’s planning a lot of cuts based on it. From what i can tell, woke seems to include anything to do with climate change and reducing carbon emissions based on what he’s planning on cutting.

He should have kept his mouth shut about his anti-wokeism if he wants to get elected as it just makes him sound like Trump. That is a sure vote loser.

7.3m votes cast during the early voting period.
Looks like about 17m votes total were cast in the 2021 federal election, and 18m in 2019.

Looks like the liberals are going to win handily.

Made my day today.

Two weeks ago the Liberals had > 6% margin which is now < 4%. That still should give them a majority if they lose no more support. But I do worry about the recent slide in Liberal popularity.

The Liberals should win the most seats. My worry is they do not win a clear majority of the seats. We do not want a minority government to deal with Trump.

I’m a bit surprised by how conservative the Powell River riding is getting. I’m wondering how much is blow back on land claims and how much is just being a semi-rural area.

So…politics works differently in Canada than in the US, but at least there seems to be a decent explanation for why working with Parliament is like working with a herd of cats.

Fortunately we have more people like the Nanaimo guy below than Canada First folks.

Americans who are uneasy about their homeland are still welcome here. Excerpt and link below.

**Partners Rachael Smith-Taylor and Lisa Owens, both nurses from Belton, Texas, said the visit to Nanaimo came as they figure out the next stage of their lives, given the concern for 2SLGBTQ+ rightsin America under Trump.

“One of the reasons why I wanted to come here, besides whales and waterfalls, is I could actually hold her hand and not be afraid,” Smith-Taylor told CBC News.**

I was scheduled to attend Mark Carney’s final campaign rally here tonight but it appears it has been cancelled due to the horrific vehicle attack here last night. No one is in the mood for partying tonight.

That for me is a big test of freedoms. People can walk down the street holding hands, and everyone minds their own damn business. If different people can walk down the street holding hands without being harassed, things are going reasonably ok with society.

Its not perfect here, people would probably look if two men held hands in the small town I live in. I don’t think anybody would say anything publicly, but they would privately. In the larger population centers it’d be fine though.
