I thought I wanted OKC to not deal with the officiating issues but with Wemby (and only Wembenyama) that did not play out like I hoped. He had quite the post-season… started out as the baby-faced future of the NBA, somehow got to be the victim (he has to defend himself if the refs won’t) when he decked Naz Reid, had some boss level games to up-end OKC, and then became the dirty, arrogant, immature brat of the Finals. And yet SA is the future of the NBA.
For the record… I totally agree with his getting violent to protect himself against the Wolves. Had no idea the street ball in France translated
Went to the Mets parade in '86. It was crazy (not rowdy, just a mass of humanity) - I am a big guy and am not used to being moved against my will. It got scary at one point. People saw open area that was blocked off, and tried moving closer. Luckily the police opened the barriers to filter people out.
Been to a couple of Yankee parades and the NY Rangers - lots of pushing and shoving as PZ mentioned, even looked like a fight was going to break out at some point.
My train to work got out right along the parade route for the 2011 Giants super bowl. Saw someone on the ground getting arrested. Must have been around 8:30am and well before the parade started.
Bump, cuz someone’s gotta make a thread for the new season…
Shit, LeBron could have signed for $4M with the Lakers. The major reason they weren’t going far enough is because his salary choked off any decent talent.
Guess he doesn’t have to live here anymore. Philly sucks in the winter time, though.
They do?
I mean, sure, they USED TO. And, if using some accounting tricks, they can appear to lose money, for the IRS’s eyes.
But, yeah, they are billionaires and tough shit if they lose some money.
And, they are billionaires buying sports franchises and tough shit if they lose money.
No longer have that overpriced albatross ruining the ability of the club to build a winning team. I just wonder if he would have stayed with LAL for $4M per season, the amount he is getting from the 76ers.
Meanwhile, five out of six Busses recommend Dentyne, er, selling their tiny share. Did they all run out of the other 65% they sold just last year??
Thought I might take in an exhibition match in October here between the Raptors and Clippers but I can’t get tickets for under $300. WTF. Do folks think this is a World Cup match?

Still not understanding this LAL sale.
Why doesn’t Jeanie simply buy her siblings out? She keeps her stake, she remains the shit captain of the shit ship, and her siblings get to waste another billion or so on gambling and whores and drinking and drugs (allegedly).
Guessing she doesn’t have the money, even though she got almost $2 billion when they sold to Walter last year. And, that is about what the Buss share is worth now.
Also, does “approval of the co-trustees” means “unanimous approval” as the attorney Streisand claims? Or, could it simply mean “majority approval”?
