This time it is not because they signed stupid contracts for past-prime players, or that the owner was racist or other shit.
No, it is because they signed a contract with Kawhi Leonard that kept them cap-compliant, but then initiated off-court income opportunities for Leonard with companies already doing business with the LAC.
LAC says, “No, we didn’t!”

Slap on the wrist. Not like they’ve ever done anything with their first round picks.
Just saw an interview with Pablo about this and he said the reason that Kawhi got a slap on the wrist ($700K fine, no suspension…) even though it was him and his uncle shopping the deal with multiple NBA teams and the Clippers taking it and working out the cap circumvention is that according to the CBA only the player and his union can initiate arbitration and that might be a bad thing for Kawhi. So Balmer’s only option is to sue in court which would be a more hostile environment.
