Looks like Browns found a new kicker.

He got six! Now he just needs the extra point.

Reminds me of the happy ending episode of curb your enthusiasm.

Yikes. I wonder how long he will continue to profess his innocence.

Who says kickers arenā€™t football players?

Myles Garrett has publicly requested the Browns trade him. He should have many suitors.

I imagine heā€™ll cost more than a first round pick, but how much more?

i donā€™t love copying shefty, but Mack is the comparable.

I think he will get less than Mack just for being a couple years older.

One sports book has odds on Garrettā€™s next team:
Detroit Lions +350
Los Angeles Chargers +400
Washington Commanders +425
Cleveland Browns +500
San Francisco 49ers +600
Philadelphia Eagles +950
Atlanta Falcons +1800
Buffalo Bills +2000
The Field +1200

You have to take Deshaun Watson as well

Nobody is taking that deal.

Mack was after 4 yrs in the league. so the team acquiring had a 5th yr option then 2 franchise years if they wanted a very unhappy guy. So they extended immediately at top of market.

the team acquiring Garrett does have 2 yrs left on his deal (barring an immediate extension). 2025 @ $5M ! 2026 at under $10M. Mack cost more than that when he went to the Bears and that was years ago. if he is happy to land there he might buy in with ā€œI want to winā€ and not demand more cash right away. But even an extension with $50M in signing bonus will raise his 2025 cap to ~$15M.

the browns will have $36M in dead cap when he is traded pre june 1 (cap hit was ~$20M if they keep him). They are also over the cap for 2025 and have work to do. #shitshow

I think it is 2 1st rd picks. And something else.

Isnā€™t his base + option bonus ~20m for each of 2025 and 2026? Maybe some other funky contract math going on I donā€™t understand.

oh man, the details on that contract are confusing to me and not yet listed in the chart on over the cap that I relied on. new team would def have more than $5M for 2025 bc there is an option bonus to be paid.

all that said, trading him means the browns take a big hit. Maybe they trade him post 6/1 when they can afford to do it. but he wonā€™t be traded prior to the draft or else the browns take a $16M hit on the cap more than if they kept him. and they are already on the bad side of the cap.

mack was traded in september when he got moved.

Yet another reason to hate the Saints

Sheesh, thatā€™s ridiculous. And considerably more evil than bounty-gate which was pretty bad already.
