Something I don’t quite understand, why are there so many massage therapists? And why do pro athletes seem to interact with so many different ones? I would think it would be more like a barber. You find the one you trust, and that’s the one you always go to.

They are likely to use the ones at the facility, since the staff will want specific muscles that they know of massaged. They are probably on self-employed contracts. Turnover is high, especially after one (or more) gropes them.

Yeah, my massage therapists treats several professional athletes in the city. One of the teams he had a contract with during the season but he obviously wasn’t making bank or anything. He goes to the homes of several other pro athletes.

I think the pay is not great and the turnover is high, and that’s without factoring assault into the equation.

My massage therapist is in school to be a firefighter because that pays much better than being a massage therapist.

But for sure there are some employed by the team and some the athlete sees on his/her own.

massages help your body recover and feel better. athletes value that.

when the watson shit came up, many people said it was a bad sign that he was seeing many. sort of hinted at the weird intent. bc they have PLENTY of access at work. OR they don’t use work bc they have their own regular who gets their body right. seeking out randos online…was hunting. so the consensus i read online was that you are right (assuming you aren’t using massages for sexual encounters too)

" The Athletic polled 10 NFL personnel executives and coaches to get a feel for Garrett’s trade market. All believed the Browns could recoup a first-round pick, with most estimating there’d be at least a player or mid-round pick added to the package. Three sources thought the Browns would land at least a pair of first-round picks."

All 10 execs surveyed think it will take a first rounder and more to get Garrett. While a minority of execs (3/10) think it will take 2 first rounders or more, that’s probably what it will take as it only takes one dance partner willing to offer that.

CLE is currently saying they won’t trade him, so this could get ugly given Garrett made such a public demand.

Next year? Drew Brees and Larry Fitzgerald are practically guaranteed to go in on the 1st attempt. I’d expect Adam Vinatieri and Reggie Wayne to go in, Luke Kuechly and Jahri Evans move into “longshot but probable at some point” status. Not sure I see anyone else from this year’s finalists make the cut, especially if Jason Witten [who’s getting in, and has a quality case for getting in quick] gets the nod on his 1st attempt.

There has been a log jam of good WR that should eventually get in. I do think Fitzgerald should make it quickly. Wayne is also a strong candidate and has now been waiting for a while. Steve Smith and Torry Holt should also eventually get in and have been waiting.

Larry Fitz first ballot is an interesting question. Looking at recent selections, first ballot HOF WRs are Jerry Rice, Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson. To me he falls somewhere near the top of the T.O., Chris Carter, Marvin Harrison, Andre Johnson group that all had to wait.

which is why i am confused at only 4 players this year

Due to complaints about letting too many players into the HOF in recent years, they made it tougher. It’s now a minimum of 3 per year and a max of 5. Picking from 7 worthy finalists can split the vote more, which often limits it to 3-4 players.

Eli Manning is the hero of the thwarting of the Patriots’ attempt at a perfect season. He should be inducted AND crowned.

Not really. The Giants defense was what really did it (and Brady’s bad ankle). 17 pts shouldn’t win a super bowl.

Absolutely! You should score 46 points!

Assuming you put all you backups in for the 4th quarter, of course. Otherwise you should score a lot more.

The Eagles were firing on all cylinders. Defense was suffocating and offense running smoothly despite Saquon getting mostly shut down. We left early in the 3rd Quarter to get the kids to bed but it was already over.

Glad this article was free.

I think the receivers were covered. One small mention about the CB’s not being tested by Mahomes.

No mention of the tallest and heaviest O-Line in Super Bowl History. Not sure if it is the tallest and heaviest O-Line of this NFL Football League season, though. I mean, ALL O-Lines are getting bigger over the years.

I am old enough to remember when the New York Giants boasted about their “half-ton O-Line”.

I thought that the Eagles D-Line was worth a thought for MVP. They were amazing.
